Re: Favorite original North American opening
If by "original" you mean "new composition not based on a Japanese original version"...
I'd probably have to go with FUNimation's 1995 DB OP (usually just titled "Catch/Find/Get That DragonBall" or some nonsense) due to how much of the spirit of the show it keeps. Similar to Italy's "What's My Destiny?", it may be an original composition, but the mood and the lyrics at least have something to do with the show it's supposed to be a part of.
Yes, the lyrics are trite ("Goku! He's gonna show you!")... but that's OK with me. It's fun.

Definately this. The song captures Dragon Ball's spirit of adventure well, IMO.

Ditto! I like it quite a bit myself.Piccolo Daimaoh wrote:Definately this. The song captures Dragon Ball's spirit of adventure well, IMO.
In his spare time, when he isn't training or fighting (and when isn't he training or fighting), does Goku do Sudoku? Find out.... TODAY!!!

Rock the Dragon will always have like that.. symbolic Dragon Ball Z thing for me.
Otherwise the Ultimate Uncut Opening, because ITS HARDCORE!!

Re: Favorite original North American opening
I guess the closest one for me would be the Gotta Find Those Dragon Balls over whatever it was called. It actually sounds like a Dragon Ball song...rather than Barry Watson's terrible misconception of what Dragon Ball is.
Re: Favorite original North American opening
Easily "Rock the Dragon." It may not exactly keep the spirit of the original series, but it's certainly iconic, kind of catchy, and definitely captures the feeling of what the early dub was.
Re: Favorite original North American opening
FUNi's Dub of" Makafushigi Adventure!" doesn't count right? Because:
1) It's actually good
2) It's faithful to the original

...so...I'll let you connect the dots.Super Sonic wrote:As the title says, what would you guys say were your favorites of the DB/Z/GT openings made for North America (not counting dub versions of original Japanese theme songs).

Dragon Ball 1995 opening, definitely. It's plain awesome.
