End of Planet Vegeta....

Ok, I know that the Raditz,Vegeta,Nappa etc. thought that Planet Vegeta was blown up by a meteor. And I know that Frieza actually destroyed the planet, but don't you think that they would have known that Frieza destroyed it? I mean, there were millions of other Saiyans WITH Bardock, they could have escaped too, right? It just seems wierd.

Sorry if I'm ranting, I just think that maybe they would have known.

Bardock was the only Saiyan challenging Frieza, all the others were on the planet or were Raditz, Vegeta, Nappa, and Goku.

The people behind Bardock were Freeza's men. Besides, even if they were Saiyan, as soon as the planet blew up they would have sufficated.

Indeed, that army of people are Freeza's soldiers. No other Saiya-jins were up there fighting, they'd all laughed at him when Bardcok said Freeza was coming. Though I still have doubts that only the four Saiya-jins survived. Goku couldn't have been the only infant Saiya-jin off world at the time.

True, you have Bardock too, Raditz would have been around the same age I guess, so he might count. You also have the movie of Goku's 'other brother'.

Just for the record, Turles is not Goku's brother, aside from what one or two dubs claims. =/ He apparently looks the way he does because of a limited gene pool in lower-class Saiyans. And that's going off of dialogue from the actual Japanese movie.

On a side note, why didnt Turles mention how he was there in the first place? If Toei cared about the cannon at all, they wouldve had Goku act the least bit intellegent and ask how he survived. After all Goku was standing RIGHT THERE when Radditz told him a meteor blew up his planet.

Well if someone were to go off on a limb and count the movies, then technichly you'd have 7 Saiyans that survived Vegeta's destruction:

Kakarrot
Raditz
Nappa
Vegeta
Turles
Paragus
Broly

Of course, those last three can't be counted as "canon". But why can't only 4 Saiyans survive? It's possible Freeza simply ordered the Saiyans back to Vegeta for "vacation" or something, however he'd apparently missed Raditz through some bizarre fluke and Nappa was still stationed on Planet Freeza as Prince Vegeta's body-gaurd. The Saiyan Prince himself was of course hidden by Freeza away from the destruction.

By the way, Bardock wasn't the only Saiyan whom rebeled. Remember, King Vegeta himself and some of his elite Saiyan soldiers (who got blue in the face and scared of Freeza when confronting) gave a resistence before Bardock sped towards Freeza's ship alone. It's very ironic, only the Fathers of the two Saiyans destined to reach ultimate power in the universe (SSJ4 Gogeta) were brave enough to try to fight Freeza.

Yeah, the funny thing about the Bardock special is that Freeza was on his way to planet Vegeta, saw Bardock's ship, and then Bardock flew out in space to meet him before he reached the planet.
Which means that Freeza had no time to personally kill King Vegeta, like he said he did in the manga -_-

Freeza could have killed King Vegeta beforehand. Remember, King Vegeta actually went out to Freeza's ship and attacked him, not the other way around. Actually, I get the feeling that's the reason why Freeza suddenly decided to kill off the Saiyans toward the beginning of the special. Also, Vegeta was already in Freeza's possesion at the beginning of the special, which means that King Vegeta had turned him over and likely attacked Freeza several days prior to the events in the Bardock special.

... Okay, I'll admit I haven't seen the movie in awhile, so one second while I check the DVD now.

See, if it was in Japanese, I might consider it official-ish, but like that, I have to say bullcrap.

If I remember right, there was also a Daizenshuu with a Saiyan line thing, with lines connecting relatives, and Goku wasn't connected with Bardock.
