Your first Dragon Ball related site?
Re: Your first Dragon Ball related site?
Planet Namek, and I tried to have a site called "Last Saiyajin Refuge" together with another guy.
Re: Your first Dragon Ball related site?
I can't remember the first DBZ site I visited, but in my younger days I frequented Planet Namek, Temple O Trunks, and Vegeta Insane.

I believe mine was either myfavoritegames or Temple O' Trunks.
Re: Your first Dragon Ball related site?
There was this site called DragonballZ> or something like that. I don't know the last time I saw it must have been like 6 - 7 years ago. I doubt it's still around.
I don't remember it being anything special.
The funny thing is I didn't even know of this site's existence until last year. But I guess I can be forgiven because in between 2003 and last year my interest in Dragon Ball/Z wasn't really there. It seems like lately I've almost got back into it. I don't know why. There's just something special about it. lol

Re: Your first Dragon Ball related site?
It was actually the official Dragon Ball Z CCG forums, in 2002 or so. That's where I met Darkprince410 back in the day. I remember posting on that forum during my computer classes in high school the entire time instead of doing work.
That's probably where my forum addiction started...
My username there was the ultra ridiculous "Chibi_SuperNamekLordSlug," a little parody of those generic "SuperVegeta07" or "ChibiTrunks666" types of names you see. That evolved into my current online handle.

Dear God, I had literally forgotten about that for a decade until you brought it up.Gaffer Tape wrote:Heh, I remember how easily I used to amuse myself back in 2000 with the official site, rapidly flashing my mouse over the icons of that flash-intensive site:

Re: Your first Dragon Ball related site?
I didn't get much into the online stuff back then. I went to dragonballz.com when I was at a computer for shits and grins. They used to have like, sound clips of the characters from the Ocean dub, didn't they?
I also had a friend get me tons of pictures printed out and I think most were from dragonballzgt.idk
I once found a site, and took like 2 hours to download a clip of Goku turning Super Saiyan 4, only for it to be short and incredibly disappointing lol.

Planet Namek, Ginga Giri Giri, and Cartoon Network's old Toonami website with dbz section.
Oddly enough, the first time I discovered Daizex was during the tail end of it's down time right before the site's relaunch. The page I was initially greeted with was a single page with an image of young Goku and a long note explaining about the site soon returning after being gone for a while.

On hiatus.

The FUNimation Z page. "What's a matter, punk? Slow connection?"
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
I did a google search on Dragonball fansites. The first one that came up was some real crappy site with broken links and false information. Then I found Daizex. So yeah...

Re: Your first Dragon Ball related site?
The official Funimation website was the first Dragonball site I ever visited back in the days when I still only had dial-up.
The Z Flash Cards were so awesome at the time.
Anyways, later I found Dragon Ball Arena, which was my favourite DB related site - it had tons of info, pictures, clips and other media. Sadly, it hasn't been updated for over 2 years now. ;(
I remember the days when I used to visit dbz-media.nl for 30MB rmvb encodes of episodes. One episode used to get downloaded for about an hour. Back in the day, this was the only way I could watch DBZ, because Cartoon Network had stopped airing it in my country and I wasn't able to afford VHS or DVD releases, plus there was no way for me to import them.
Luckily, I now have a credit card, a monthly pay and the availability of the Dragon Boxes. ^^
There was also a site dragonball-gt.com which had tons of anime clips and picture galleries. Thanks to it I was able to see the show in its full gory in Japanese for the first time ever. And also spoil some of the greatest moments in Dragon Ball history for myself, such as Goku's first SSJ3 transformation.

PlanetNamek.com. The king is dead. LONG LIVE THE KING!
Other than that, DBZUncensored, The Neglected Nameksei-jin Shrine (the first place that published me!) and TNU were the core of my online Dragonball world back in the day.... Only one of these sites is left
It breaks your heart to realize that.

Re: Your first Dragon Ball related site?
The first site I remember memorizing the URL to (back in the old days when I didn't know bookmarks existed) was one of those crappy, often ill-informed fansites called The Dragonball Z Kingdom...I even remember I was never sure how to spell Sai-Yan for a long time XD
But in a larger sense...planetnamek.com. To this day, I still miss that site. For years, it was my home.

Some site that I can't remember the name of. It had a MASSIVE picture gallery, and it had a picture of Trunks in the banner
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!
