Dead Zone - Director's Commentary

Post by SonGokuGT » Sat Jun 18, 2005 1:50 pm

I saw the Dead Zone redub at the store the other day and noticed that it had a "Director's Commentary" track on it. Unfortunately I got hit with a huge bill since my car is messed up badly, so I can't buy it. So I'm just wondering who talks in the commentary, what they discuss, etc. as wells as your thoughts on the additional track.

~Thanks

Chuck Huber and Chris Chris Cason had done the commentary. Needless to say they both were quite the sarcastic couple, but some of the things they talked of was interesting, however they not once brought up the Pioneer dub, it got kind of boring a couple times but was sort of fun to watch. Also for the DVD extras, it's given 4 trailers along with the commentary, woopie! :P And oh yeah, there is NO "never before seen footage" that wasn't already in the Pioneer DVD, and I don't know why someone would count the ending credits being shrunken in the Pioneer release as "never before seen", plus FUNi used the wrong opening in their redub angle. One last thing: the sub's Opening and Ending Kanji wasn't translated in any subtitle or angle track, the redub's music was obviously replaced, and all curses were toned down in the redub. Well, at least Steve's sub was 100% accurate (unlike the shady Pioneer sub), however this dvd is most definitly inferior to the Pioneer release, they could of at least gotten a hold of the Spanish-Mexican version, that and Steve's translation alone would be worth the $15.

Because FUNi denies the existance of said dub.
Steve's translation alone would be worth the $15.
Steve's translations are priceless.

The commentary is actually quite funny. It also drowns out the god awful english music.
