Am I the only guy who just flat out doesn't want a character creator in my Dragon Ball games (excluding Online)?
You're one of two. I don't really see the appeal either.
Super Saiyan Blue is not a creative color.
DBZ Movie 3 told a stronger and more believable "Evil Goku" story in 60 minutes than Dragon Ball Super has in 20 episodes. And it did it with better visuals and score.

Of all the characters, they chose Cui, Saibaiman and Cell Jr.? I guess I can live with that but... really? King Cold, Mecha Freeza and Meta Coola, just for starters... I guess they can still be in... but it's not looking like it.

All three are definitely more worthy of a spot than King Cold and arguably Mecha Freeza though I would have liked to see those three as well. Are those all the returning characters? If so I can't believe we didn't get Garlic Jr...

Time to repeat myself! lol

We were told 20 slots for returning fighters:

Nail, Future Gohan (Base, Super Saiyan), Paikuhan, Dabra, Tullece, Janenba (Transformed), Zangya, Bojack (Base, Transformed), Ultimate Gohan, Cooler (Transformed), Jinzoningen 13 (Base, Merged), Saibaiman, Cell Jr., and Cui are visually confirmed, so that totals 17.

Cooler (Base) and Lord Slug are no brainers, as both of them will be in Plan to Eradicate the Super Saiyans, so our new total is 19.

Meaning we have 1 returning fighter from Spike's previous series...meaning maybe Mecha Coola, Mecha Freeza, or Sauza (since we have Dore?)? This is assuming that the original numbers we were told have not been increased of course.

I'm a very happy man right about now, because of the new team attacks. Now lets hope that they add Family Kamehameha, and maybe some original creative ones as well. Oh and that opening is amazing and I cant wait to hear it with the new Kageyama song.It looks like it could rival the Tenkaichi 1 intro which was by far the best of the 3d openings.

If you remember the number of slots then you can assume that we'll get more than 20 returning characters, unless you assume out of the remaining six (or eight) characters left to be confirmed, all five (seven) are new?

Yes, yes he did, it's not an "outrageously random statement", check your facts. So I'll take that as fact. If the DEVELPOERS of a game are saying Japan doesn't want a CAC mode, it's safe to say it's not gonna happen.

It's just like how Japan loves DragonBall and the Friea saga in Z and the US loves GT. Thats why BT3 had like every single character that fought on Namek short of 'Random Namekian Warrior'.
Lol, if you take what a random developer says to possibly cover up laziness as fact then good for you. I won't believe anything unless we get some sort of questionaire or voting system with numbers to back up the talk. Have fun passing off random statements as fact.

Also, I love how you completely disregard my other point.
No, it's about as practical as not wanting a bunch of losers to make a bunch of Mary-Sue-per Saiyans in a character creator and pretend they're anything close to Creative. Character Creators are stupid. If you want to be an unoriginal hack, just write a bad fanfic. Be sure to have Super Saiyan 6 Goku punch Legendary Super Saiyan 9 Broly through Spike's Development building out of nerd rage.
First, that specific comment wasn't directed at you, LeprikanGT can speak for himself.

Second, if you don't like CAC, then don't fucking use it. It's that simple, it's not as if a mode others can have fun with will spoil your fun. It's not obligatory you know. I'm not a fan of SSJ6OMG custom made characters myself, but I would like to get creative with an in-depth mode like that.

Functionally-speaking it's the same as Full-Nelson Special Beam Cannon. Initiator attacks, extra party member comes in and dies.

I'm well aware of the possible changes, notice that I covered my ass by saying that all that was based on what we were told originally. But the trailer did prove that one slot is to be for selecting a random character as it did have a nice big "?" in it and we still have 2 new fighters and 2 what-ifs based on the original projections. We have no idea what category was increased, if we are getting more new fighters, returning fighters, what-ifs, or a mix of them, so for now I'll continue to play it safe. lol

King Cold never did anything except swing a sword.....Metal Cooler had an entire movie and a million of him; he wins the balance. And I'd rather either Cell Jr/saibamen be Mr. Satan like whoa. I can't decide which of those tiny characters I would want less; probably Saibamen because their explosion doesnt do JACK towards killing anyone but Yamcha.

Wow, it seems Spike have really upped their game on the CG animation.
That opening looks even better than the CG Dimps put out.
Shame the game-play isn't as polished (even though it seems to have gone through a makeover).

Even if the ingame graphics looks as good as the intro, we wouldn't have the same vantage point or the speed they are moving.....although YES, thats the best looking opening I can remember.

About those 'team' attacks, maybe it's like RB where if you have the other person on your team and you pull off a super and hit the right button, it will intensify and add the 2nd player.

From the preview shown on the trailer, the opening looks promising! The CGI look far better than any other DB videogame opening that used the same technique to generate images, as far as I can I remember.
How many Scouters has Vegeta broken already?

Roughly 2, I guess, depending on what Spike is doing with the extra character slots on the select screen.

Though to be fair, what your asking for isn't one of the options Spike gave us for characters that they were adding to their roster. We were told we would get fighters returning from BT3, what-ifs, and characters never "seen" (playable) in a DBZ game.
