While the dub with the Japanese score will be nice to sample occasionally, my main reason for wanting to replace my singles is actually the improved video quality. The GT singles are completely riddled with damage, ridiculous amounts of grain, and macroblocking. It's absurd. The DVNR'd footage is the better of the two here by a large margin.

Honestly, I'm intrigued a bit by this and wana see some photos, but I've never really been a big fan of Purchasing GT, in any form.

When FUNimation announced the Dragon Box Zs, pretty much every bit of my desire to purchase anything else Dragon Ball they were putting out flew away. I even stopped buying the Steelbook Movies, because I do NOT want to be stuck in another position where I spend a ton of money buying the whole series in One format only to have a Dragon Box comes out later and go "... Damnit..."

So yeah, I Might, maybe, someday, pick this up if I see it for a decent price... but only long after FUNi has completely shot down the possibility of doing A Dragon Box GT... I hate GT, but I'd buy a Dragon Box GT Just BECAUSE it's a Dragon Box.

Even though I have all the singles, I'll pass on this because of the DVNR'd & slightly zoomed in footage (even if it does have a better encode) and loss of alternate angles and episode previews. The only ever upgrade I'll make is if they release a Dragon Box for GT.

Does anyone know if this set had brought back the next episode previews? Also, I'd REALLY love some pictures if anyone has picked this up yet.

No...

OK, I lied.

So, it's not exactly the two seasons within one slip case. But these are exactly the same discs. It turns out it's in DVD book form...

I think it's actually cool looking, having the whole DBGT series in this neat little book thing. There is even space in the back for the two books!

There was one slip up though, on the cover it says it contains the movie "A Hero's Tale", but on the actual DVD (and in every other release) it's called "A Hero's Legacy". Kinda odd they messed that up, but I guess it happens.

Yes. It's the season sets repackaged into this shiny, sexy packaging.

That packaging looks so much better! I may have to buy this even though I'm waiting for the GT Dragon Box.

Tanooki Kuribo, could you please post pictures of the set when it's closed up?

See, now that right there is awesome....aside from the Legacy/tale thing, but still; that is WAY more care and effort put into that than the craptastic tight fitting sleeves. It also lets you display the spine art without having to worry about what to do with the sleeves.

While that is pretty shiny and sexy... it'd be a fucking nightmare if any of the hubs and/or hinges broke.

This is why I like the old singles, they're just a regular damn dvd case. Space saving be damned.

I wish Funimation would the samething for the Z season sets.

Break them into three box sets and this kind of packaging.

Dragon Ball Z Complete Series 1 (seasons 1, 2, & 3)
Dragon Ball Z Complete Series 2 (seasons 4, 5, & 6)
Dragon Ball Z Complete Series 3 (seasons 7, 8, & 9)

Here ya go greenman...

Also, the back...

And spine art of the DVD book...

And finally, the art on the DVD book...

The photo's seem to suck all the color out of the box. It's actually more vivid in real life.

Thank you! So much nicer. The season set packaging should have been more like that from the beginning.

The spin makes me wish ther would rerelease DBZ and DB with this kind of packaging. You can keep the slipcover on and have the spin visible at the same time.
