Finally someone agress. If it gives you more to unlock, then I see that as a LONGER game to play and you'll have more hours into it. If everyone is there in the beginning, where's the skill in everywhere aside from story mode? You should have to build up skill as you unlock things.

Though I agree with the others that the game could easily be just as fun with the entire roster unlocked from the start, you could simply play and unlock the extra attacks and costumes for the characters to expand upon the gameplay you had from the beginning.

But since we'll have to unlock the characters anyway, I do admit that it would be more fun if Spike didn't reveal the entire roster beforehand. I would prefer if they gave us a number of characters and then kept at least a couple of them secret. Like for RB2, they told us over 100 fighters, and as soon as they reveal the final 5/6 we'll know everyone with a total of 101 fighters. Though it would be nice, if while playing the game, there were maybe another 4 characters we weren't told about (it would round out the selection screen). They could surprise us with 2 more returning fighters and 2 more new fighters.

EDIT: No...don't expect any till next month. V-Jump will probably just officially reveal either Ultimate Gohan, Saibaiman, Cui, Cell Jr., Lord Slug, Dore (?), Coola (Base, Transformed), Jinzoningen 13 (Base, Merged), Jinzoningen 14, or Jinzoningen 15.

Ultimate Gohan was already in a scan.

But to be technical about it.....if all you did was walk into a game store and see RB2 on the shelf, you wouldn't know the entire roster. The internet is how we find out about thses games...but it's also how we leave too many spoiler.

Everytime a new game is released, I tell myslef that I won't look at everything but everytime I watch every video, and look at every scan and picture. I check THIS thread atleast 20 times a day JUST to see if there was any new vids, info, scans.

I guess they feel they have to reveal all the characters to sell the games at this point, which they are probably right about.

I just wish I would let myself get surprises, but I keep looking at the scans, like they're an addiction. :( That's it, if there is a Raging Blast 3, I want it all to be a surprise!

Yeah, but all characters are typically officially revealed through either V-Jump or the website. You can still probably expect to see him pop up.

But that's just it, Spike makes the whole roster available to us online. Most people won't just walk into a store and pick up a game like this unless they are a fan of the franchise. Its the fans that have seen the announcement and are following the details. Honestly, how many people out there in this day and age would even know about a game like this that isn't a big name series like Halo, Street Fighter, etc. if it wasn't for the internet or possibly the occasional magazine?

What do you guys think will be fighting like with Hatchiyak? It seems to me that he will be like Broly. Not too fast hitting and not that slow like Super Trunks. The gameplay videos suggest so to me.

Yeah, he seems to be about medium speed like Broli. Also looks like he may have a few invincibility frames during some of his basic attacks so that even if he gets hit while trying to throw a punch, he doesn't flinch and can still hit the opponent anyway. Even if he isn't good though, I'll be playing with him, as I treat the entire roster pretty fair. I may favor Goku and Vegeta a bit more than I should, but I do play as everyone, and I enjoy it. I like competition, but I don't treat the game as a competitive fighter. I don't like tiers, and I don't play to win, I play to have fun...cause I enjoy Dragon Ball.

Wasn't he REALLY fast in the special? One of his moves where he did overhanded ki balls throws looked ot be like.... Recoome slow at throwing them. So far he seems like a character I wouldn't play as much because his bulky size looks to be slowing him down in the game but not in the special.

If only every player thought like you...
I generally use most of the roster, but I won't deny that I favor Burdock, Tienshinhan, Goku, Vegeta and Piccolo when I'm playing a ranked online match. It annoys me that most users whom I fight with tend to use Vegetto and Kid Boo and spam the same rush move again and again, not to mention the "quitters" when things don't work out the way they would expect it to...!
How many Scouters has Vegeta broken already?

Same here. even in Sparking! METEOR, I favoured King Cold, King Vegeta, Bojack, #13, Metal Coola and Mystic Gohan, but I still pretty much play the whole roster. Except Mr. Satan, I refuse to touch that fucker.

Eh When ever i get A DBZ game like this. I always play the tutorial then go straight for the story mode. So whether they are unlocked from the beginning or not doesn't matter to me as I don't check till after I beat the story mode for the first time.

I hope they have penalties for quiting the game before the match is over. That was a big problem with RB1's online. A person would get beat down and about to lose then quit ad then sometimes send you a flaming message after the disconnect.

Yeah, he was REALLY fast, but even Broly was pretty fast in his movie. But they have to maintain some sense of balance since all the characters from across all the sagas are thrown together. Just because he was super fast at beating up a bunch of Super Saiyans doesn't mean he could keep up with Super Perfect Cell and SS2 Gohan. If they used the idea that EVERYONE was REALLY fast at some point in the series, then everyone would fight at the same speed.

As I said before, it looks like he has some invincibility frames to cope with his lower speed. Means he'll take damage from the opponents hit, but wont flinch and can knock them in the jaw before they land the second punch so that he can start a combo. He may be fairly playable, just like "LSS" Broli is against 3/4 of the roster (excluding characters like Vegetto, Super Perfect Cell, Kid Buu, SS2 Gohan, etc.). It works out just about how it should.

Spike's DBZGT games just aren't competitive game material, this isn't Tekken, Street Fighter, Super Smash Bros., etc. It would be fine if they wanted to treat it like that, but so many of the character are just very broken, that it can't really be done without a lot of tweaks. But to better emulate DBZ, some of the brokenness is required. I know Nappa is a bitch to play as when trying to fight most the Super Saiyans, it SHOULD be like that if they are attempting to simulate the series. So I won't complain for whatever direction they decide to take.

I admit that my competitive nature likes to try and take over and make me spam when losing, but I have to force myself not to. It doesn't stay fun if I let it get to me like that. I typically never go online to fight because I hate dealing with that sort of thing, I'm more than content with local vs. mode, even if the computer AI is kinda lacking.

They never make them hit the opponent to the ground, flop his ass down on their stomach, and then steal their energy by grabbing their face like he did to Goku.
They always give him the same Ultimate as 20: grab the opponent by the face, absorb energy, throw enemy away from you, then blast with eye lasers or a generic ki blast from the hand.

I guess that is what he means anyway.

Arale was a BEAST!

Why wouldn't you touch Mr. Satan? He had some original different moves [especially in the Budokais]

I haven't heard or seen anything about a Collector's Edition come my way for North America, so I'm led to believe that it's either not coming, or... uhh... it's not coming. :(
