Honestly didn't expect them to just go out of print. Anyone that hasn't gotten theirs yet, try contacting FUNimation directly. If they get enough requests to justify running another batch, I don't see a reason for them not to do so. They're not going to make any money if people start selling used copies at jacked up prices.
I can see their parachutes.

My YouTube

Soppa Saiyjins from Dorgou Ballru Zetto is my favorite transformation everah, especially when Trounksoru did it in front of Seru and when Bejita did it when he faced Jingonigen-hachigo. But for real, I use the FUNi pronunciation. - Soppa Saia People

Sucks for people who never picked it up. I wonder why Dragon Box 2 is out of print instead of Dragon Box 1?
If Dragon Box Two is truly of out print, the first is likely out of print as well. They probably made more copies of the first Dragon Box or there was more demand for the second.

I hate to jump to conclusions, but it says it's no longer available for purchase. I'm pretty sure it means it's out of print.

If they really are ceasing production on these babies, all the ones on the store shelves right now just became potential gold mines. Go and pick up any extra copies you can, because one day, somebody's going to want one and they won't be able to find it.

It's also some incentive to get off your ass and pick them up if you haven't. I still haven't bought Vol. 1, so I'll be doing that as soon as I find a good deal.

I just got another update from axelmusic, 26 days after my order was placed: ''Unfortunately still on backorder with the supplier. This kind of time frame is seldom, but does unfortunately happen from time to time. ''
really really hope it's still available.. I already paid for it nearly a frcking month ago :x

I better get Dragonbox Vol.4 before it goes out of print as well. Thank god I bought the 2nd and 3rd Dragonboxes for my birthday in July.

What can you surmise in regards to Dragon Box 3? I already have 1 and 2...

This really is a shame that this is happening. I guess since nothing really major happens in the series on Box 2, it hasn't sold well. There's five new on Amazon, but from separate sellers. I wonder if Box 4 will suffer the same fate...

Thankfully I have all four so far, and I hope I can get the next three ASAP after release.

My Best Buy says its unavailable where I live, but I hope it gets in stock there soon, The Perfect Cell saga is my 2nd favorite saga. :(

And the orange bricks are still being churned out, I'm sure.

This is disappointing. Why can't Funi keep the best thing they've ever released in print?

Since you're a drummer, I'll give you a drummer metaphor: "When you drum, anime gets canceled." Take that to heart.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that it isn't going out of print. If I'm wrong, I'll never forgive FUNimation. C'mon, many of us here have been trying to collect the entire series since way before the Ultimate Uncut Editions were even released. It's starting to look as if I'll never achieve that feat. There's absolutely no way I'm going to settle for the orange bricks. Eww...

Maybe they plan on releasing it again in a few months. Like they did with the Justice League set.... I wanted it, they discontinued it, they released it again, made me desperate to buy before it discontinued again.

This possibility should be taken into consideration before anyone spends way too much money on eBay. You don't want to end up blowing $100+ on a "collectible" only for it to be put back into print. This is where some info from FUNi would be helpful.

Somebody should ask FUNimation on Twitter. I would, but I don't have an account there.
It's not just the Dboxes either, the Cooler steelbook has apparently been out of print for a while, and the movie 7/9 one I ordered from Axelmusic is also on "backorder." D:

I don't think they're that high yet. You can probably still find one for under $45.

My guess is because it's still before the street date. I actually saw Box 4 on the shelf of my nearest Best Buy three days ago, but when I tried to buy it the system wouldn't let it go through because there were still four days to go until its street date.

If the Dragon Box is going out of print, and I haven't been able to find hard evidence that it is, I could only blame it on FUNimation's release of Kai. There are some (like me) who, despite the quality of the English dub, prefer the entire series as produced as opposed to a hack job and, naturally, FUNimation wants to sell Kai, which would obviously be easier to do without competition.

On the flip side, while the Dragon Box is being produced for "hardcore fans" there are likely a fair amount who aren't interested anymore, just like the fans of Faulconer's music might not be interested due to its exclusion.

Sites like DVD Aficionado always indicate whether a particular product is out of print (such as with many, though not all, of the single DVD releases) but none of the Dragon Box releases are listed as out of print.
