Something interesting posted in the pages comment:
Ganjalow wrote:-Will be humoristic
-There will be a second U16 special not drawn by PoF. It will be more serious, obviously.
-There are 23 pages. So this chapter will end the 25 September.
-There will be some pages colored by Faye :)
I have already supposed there would be more then one special for U16, but it is nice to see the confirmation. Ganjalow is not inside the team, as far I know, but he hangout in the French comment page and frequently post this kind of stuff in the English page. He was the first, IIRC, to mention the current special and the possibility of being more then 3 pages per week, for example.

He quite obviously made a mistake in the 3rd point, though. =P It will end in November first, if I am not mistake.

I actually feel a little bit better now that I know this special is going to lean more on the humorous side of things. The last panel of the page is leading me to believe that Bra is going to get hit on. Hopefully by a disgusting bug like creature.

Yeah, it's interesting. And for a comedy chapter it fits perfectly.

Why did Vegetto bring the girls but not Gohan?

Am I the only one who finds the concept of Dragon Ball characters as diplomats both completely absurd and amusing?

Many a war would be started because of them, I am sure.

Because he is training them but not him? Or maybe because he has his job. I suppose he can't leave his research alone to go play diplomat.

No, I agree with you. I am more concerned in the why though. Why Vegetto and not Goku? Well, I suppose the first is better for it (Goku is too much clueless and Vegeta is too much of an ass). Still, I would want to have this addressed in comic.

Unless someone's using their presence as Lex Luthor used Billy Batson's in Kingdom Come (God, that's a classic).

But how and why would they be diplomats in the first place?

They are gunboat diplomats who rely in a lot of agressive negotiation. All they need to do is show a bit of what Vegetto is capable of and every one will agree with him. =P

But, seriously, I agree with you. I am also curious about that. However, I thought you were fluent in French? Never thought in reading the official fanfictions? If I uderstood correctly the answer of these questions are there, at last partially.

Btw, I was just half joking in my first paragraph. I can't see Vegetto doing any kind of diplomacy other then blowing up stuff until the other comply. Not that I think Vegetto would threaten the poor aliens with his massive power. But I think the only thing he is capable of is find where is the problem and blast it until it is solved. How else was that either Goku or Vegeta have ever dealt with their problems, anyway?

By now, Bra is way stronger than Gohan or the boys. And Pan is still in training, so this is as much a training mission as a diplomatic one. More like aggressive negociations probably.

The art is great, it's far above average, it dips in a few places, but the coloured pages are gorgeous.

But the story to me just reeks of a bad fanfic, I really can't put it any other way, it doesn't feel like a story to me, it just feels more like an excuse to get characters that otherwise couldn't interact to fight with each other.

Anyway, that said I will keep up to date, because honestly it's refreshing to see fan works of this high a standard cropping up.
This is so very true, especially if you see all the chapters up to date to where they are now

That was the entire point the entire time. To show fanservice fights with alternate universe characters while setting up a bigger story.

A fanfic reeks of a fanfic? WOW big contraversial opinion you got there bud.

It's better than the other specials. The ones where the artist tried to copy Toriyama, and ended up with some stiff-looking pale imitations... And that Trunks special... the art that wasn't traced was worse than what even I could do.

I'm just saying. I prefer an original art style over hideous copies.

I don`t agree at all... The best arcs (or a few of the best) in Dragon ball were tournament arcs. This manga is a huge tournament and it uses all the elements necessary to remain interesting and humurous and provide good fights using characters from all over Dragon Ball.
Alternate universes is a common concept in science fiction (which is a big element in Dragon Ball) and its even used in the story of Dragon Ball to justify how the Trunks` timeline can coexist with the main timeline. To think that there are more universes is hardly an effort.
Personally, I can`t imagine a better way to pay homage to Dragon Ball than doing this DBM manga as a possible/alternate last arc of the story (even though not canon to the story, of course) that uses all the elements and most of the important characters of the story.

Why people keep saying the Brolly specials were bad drawn? It is not as a good as Gogeta Jr., but I think Albertocubatas did a very good job at it. I think it sucks seeing so many people bashing him when he drawing was good.

A agree about the Trunks special, though. I don't like PoF art at all but, at last in his own style, his drawing is overall good. Gothax did just a bad drawn imitation. At last PoF is better then that.

Edit: New page:

Yeah, this girl just born to be a diplomat.

Kinda funny, but not that much. In the bright side, the art bothered me less this time. Probably because I found Bra the one who come better with this art, for some reason. Vegetto's face is kinda weird in the last panel, though. Anyway, this page is useful to at last tell us Vegetto is very respectable in space. Maybe they were told it was him who defeated Freeza? Also, it seem both Bras have more in common then I thought.

Well I was half right. I wonder why the Japanese page is different. Maybe it was just a simple mistake?
