Immortality?

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

I assume that, if Garlic Jr was given the Perfect Cell/Kid Buu treatment, there would perhaps be a tiny part of him that would always survive no matter what, and from there he would regenerate completely.

Well, if it's immortality in a true sense in that they absolutely cannot die, then they wouldn't receive a Zenkai because they would never be "near death". It's the same way that a Saiya-jin couldn't receive a Zenkai from being resurrected, because again, they didn't recover from "near death".
Yeah but I always thought it made sence since he'd normally be killed by the much more powerful Freeza, but since he had immortality he wouldn't die but be near death, get it ? This happening over and over again, getting zenkais each time Vegeta would at some point be stronger than Freeza and then defeat him.

But I see what you are trying to say too.

When I have time I'll write an article on all the different types of immortality and apply them to DB.

It depends on the type of immortality. If they can still be damaged, but can't die and just keep regenerating, then they might still get zenkais. They still get them after getting healed by Dende, healing tanks or senzu beans, after all. All we can do is guess.

An interesting thought: if your body was continuously being magically healed instead of allowed to heal by itself, wouldn't it be impossible for you to build your muscles, too?
If TPP passes in your country it will be illegal for you to watch an imported DVD. Click here to learn more!

It depend of how magical is the healing. If it just accelerate the normal body functions, then it should be ok.

Zenkais are a genetic response, not a conscious force.
