Why Tarble looks like a teenager?

I know this probably all comes down to artistic licence or Toriyama just forgetting logic but does anyone have a logical, sane reason why this would be?

My pet theory is that it's got something to do with Grey. Either her people's planet itself has some sort of "fountain of youth" property which keeps aliens young, or Grey herself is somehow responsible and she and Tarble are the DB universe's equivalent of Zefram Cochrane and The Companion.

It has absolutely nothing to back it up, but since we were never given any official explanation, this idea is as good as any.

He's not battle hardened. So his decelerated aging has him looking younger compared to the other Saiyans.

Like a non-smoker who takes care of themselves, might look young for their age compared to the wrinkled up old 50 year old looking smoker, who is really 35.

Their homeworld is a war-torn wasteland that's beyond polluted. So polluted, that the people live in bioshperes and go to war with each other's domes to steal resources from each other. At least, that's what I got from looking at the picture from the Biosphere preview page.

Anybody buy and scanslate those two manga yet? They sell them online. I'd have ordered them, but I don't read Japanese and didn't want to accidentally pay to have 10,000 copies sent to a school in Nagasaki.

Anyhoo, what's neat about that war-torn pollution aspect is that it's possible the Pichi Pichi people of Sandland are actually from one of the domes.

I don't know about that...Let's say since King Vegeta died the day Goku was sent to Earth, Tarble would be 9 months younger than Goku. So that would would to be some crazy wild 'good healthy habits'. Plus Goten and Trunks weren't battle hardened when we saw then as 7 and 8 [right?] And they seemed to be aging normal, although that may be the half Earthling in them.

My strong point I'm going with: Vegeta's Mother. Was it ever said that he had the same mother AND father? Since we never see her in a flash back or whatever, maybe she was somewhere else while the planet was destroyed and happen to find another Saiyan throughout the universe. With ALL the weakling babies they talked about sending to distanet planets and galaxies, it is HIGHLY unlikely every single one was on the same planet at once. Only thing I don't like about my own theory is I would WANT him to have the same parents as Vegeta.

Basically shouldn't he should look roundabout the same age as Goku? Was his age ever said in the Jumps special? He could just be short and young looking for his age.

Or we could throw it off as a polt hole but either way, since he was in a special and not a movie, I'm going with him being canon [to me atleast.] Either way, I loooooove his character design and will be paying him a lot in the game and I hope they give him a cool dub voice, not a whiney ass kid Gohan voice.

I think it's more common among girls though. But you're right, I've met girls like that... who get checked for ID three times before they can even get into a bar.

Well, I suppose it can happen with guys, as well. I mean, I'm 21 and I've been carded for 18+ things.... heck, a few months ago I got carded for a 15+ movie!

Vegeta is older than Goku, but when he first appeared he looked like a teenager, sort of, and the young voice doesn't help (Unless you watch the dub and he doesn't sound young... he sounds older.... A LOT OLDER!).

I'm with Kaboom on this one. There is so much unexplained officially in the series about aliens and such, so ANYTHING could be possible.

I'd cut it down to a "rejuvenation chamber" like Freeza's employ use, but for aging.

I doubt. Goku was send away as "weak" baby and he was able to procreate.
Also inheritance of height is a classical example of multiple gene inheritance

How do you figure that?

In hopes of explaning why tarble looks so young...King Vegeta died when Goku was one day old correct? So the lastest Tarble could have been "made" was the day Goku was sent to Earth and Bardock died. So if Saiyans are preggo for 9 months like humans, Tarble would have popped out 9 months after that.

@Savage: The same reason Turles looks like Goku, no real sense about it. But he looks like Ultimate Gohan, if he was to really look like Gohan, he would look like Cell Games Gohan at that point.

I meant that "taking care of" part, in the sense that the non-smoker is taking care of themself by not smoking. Like smoking, being in constant battle can make you look older than you are. Tarble doesn't come off as the fighter Vegeta is. Add to this Vegeta's statment from the manga "We Saiyan live in battle so we remain in our prime longer".

Tarble's youthful appearence could be a reflection of his "softness" by not being a fighter in addition to his decelerated aging (he's a true babyface). Also if you look at Goku who appears to look the same way as his did in the 23rd Budokai, wasn't he in his teens then? So Goku is kinda supposed to appear the same as he was then (as a teen). In some ways he appears slightly older, but he is a fighter which goes back to my earlier statement.

Hybrids probably age normally (or it kicks in at late adulthood), but live longer because they are half human. Just MHO.

How old was Goku at the tournament when he got married? Tarble DOES have a wife, he has to have some age to him, or he could have been living on her home planet and the environment held his aging back.

When he went to Earth, he didn't drink from the Pool of Eternal Youth that day (since, you know, he wasn't on the planet), and when he left Earth, his face automatically dropped back into the saggy lined old face of a middle-aged man.
