There's a really old fanfic out there by Sholio called "Ki-Blind" which takes the premise of the destron gas one step further so that everyone has to rely solely on their old-school martial arts moves with no powering up and no flying. Completely different villains though. It's been way too long (years and years) since I've read it though so I can't speak that much about it.

Side note; is the name "destron gas" a joke on the phrase "the strongest"? Probably isn't, but I find it amusing how they sound alike if you say each one fast enough.

Oh! And the main reason for my post; the screenshots at the bottom of the Tidbits page about Zetsumetsu Keikaku aren't working anymore. I don't know why.

Perhaps, perhaps not, but interesting catch either way. It could also be "de-strong." As in nullifying strength.

"Destron" is a pretty generic term for evil things that appears in a lot of Japanese series. It was the name of the villain organization in Kamen Rider V3 (the second series ever, from the early 70's), and it's also the Japanese name for the Decepticons in Transformers.

From the early 70's?
That's really interesting. O_O
I had no idea it was a term that was that old and widely used.

I loved the original animation, even if it had a lower quality master than the episodes, though it'll be interesting to see what will change in the remake.

Sifting through the new trailer...I noticed that Gokû's hair has that super-glowy golden effect like it did in Heya! Son Gokû and Friends Return!!.

In the Jump special Super Saiyan hair was beyond ridiculous. When Gotenks went Super Saiyan it looked like his hair wasn't even attached to his head and why did it make the character look like they were standing in a shadow? If you hair is bright yellow, you should be brighter, not darker. I think THIS special does it right, it looks more like the show and all the movies. Too bad they slacked off on tossing the rest of the world a dub.

Or maybe they just want you to watch the special in Japanese. The language it was created in. How it exists.

So that means we should abandon all hope for a dub? I don't think so.

Oh for crying out loud, just wait for Funi to do it. People, just stop being so pedantic, stop selecting random facts and using them against people, it's so annoying.

No, we should not abandon all hope.
No, there is no dub in the special. Consider yourself lucky that you have a sub, actually, consider yourself lucky that the special is included outside of Japan.

Yes, it is going to be subbed. No it's not going to be dubbed. Is it going to be released in DVD? No one knows. Is Funimation going to have the rights for it? No one knows.

Seriously, why is this still a topic of conversation? Why is it an issue? Be content with what you have right now and maybe you will have more in the future.

Are you ONLY saying this because [i'm assuming] you're a sub fan? If not, why aren't you atleast a bit put off by the major selling point of a game isn't in your native language even though it's being release in your native country?

I prefer subs, I'll admit that. I wish there were subs in my language, but there never were, so you're lucky to have at least that. Again: I don't have subs in my language, in any kind of animated Dragon Ball. I would love to have them, but I am content on having them subbed in a language I'm comfortable with. So, despite the fact that I prefer subs, I would much rather have them subbed in my language, but I doubt that will ever happen, I am happy to at least have something.

There's a saying in my country, it translates to "poor and "un"thankful", bear that in mind and think about it for a bit instead of constantly complaining about the same thing. Think of those of us who are content with having your scraps. I have to buy your Funi releases to have the series in DVD in decent quality. Think about it.

We have sort of the same point. I think pubishers or whoever controls that kind of thing in each country or region SHOULD dub the game in the laguage of that region. I use English as the example because that's what we speak here.

Well, maybe they should, or rather they could. But they don't, and since it's not up to us, we have to be thankful with what we're given.

I'm thankful for getting new animation, yes.

But if people don't speak up when they aren't pleased with something that could be changed to better something, it will never be changed.

Complaining in this forum is not going to take you anywhere. Complain to Funimation, make a petition to them or Toei. Complaining here isn't going to achieve anything at all, apart from annoying people around you and creating a bad reputation for yourself.

I'm sure they check places like this since it was on one of their surveys wasn't it?

And I don't mind people knowing I hate not having a Dub of things released in the U.S., it's not anything I am ashamed of.

I becomes annoyingly silly when the majority of your posts is the same thing said over and over again.

I'm sure Funimation will eventually release it on DVD subbed and dubbed.

Yeah, too bad FUNi didn't have time to dub this, on top of their numerous other projects, within the few months' time-frame they would have had to dub it...assuming they even had the rights to dub it from Toei.

With Sabat at the directors helm, a dub would be just as faithful to "How it exists" as the original Japanese.

With them spank in the middle of Kai AND the newly animated special having and all new script and with Sabat on the ball with things nowadays; I'm sure they would go with the same script as the Jp versin, possibly with a few name and attack changes.
