Re: "Raging Blast 2" Pre-Release Discussion
Are beam struggles still spinny sticks or did they switch to buttons?
If sticks, it is the highest number in a time limit or whoever pushes it to the other player?

Re: "Raging Blast 2" Pre-Release Discussion
Hey guys, this is technically my first post here - I've been around on these boards for years but never signed up untill about a year ago but I never knew my account was activated until just now haha, so hey.
I just played the demo and I really have to say the controls are awful; I can't get to grips with them at all...
I know they're pretty similar to the first Raging Blast and I should be used to it, but in all honesty - the reason I didn't buy Raging Blast was partly due to the bad controls (among other things).
Now, I was under the impression that this game would have it's control setup changed to be more akin to the Sparking! games (Idk why they changed it anyway, those controls were just about perfect...).
Does anyone know if we'll be able to tweak the controls in the full game? Because these controls are really, really bad and have made me really dissapointed in a game I was eagerly anticipating...

Are the super and ultimates still R3? I thought was was much handier than a 3 button combination.

Yeah, they're all on R3 and you just tilt it in a different direction for a different technique. When you're in Max Power you just press it down to do your Ultimate.LeprikanGT wrote:Are the super and ultimates still R3? I thought was was much handier than a 3 button combination.
I've played 3 or 4 matches now with Goku and Gohan and I still can't get the hang of the controls, they feel so unnatural and awkward... Is there any reason Spike changed them?

Then its a you problem and not the game, because these controls are much better than in the Sparking series. They take some adjusting, but overall they work out much better. I have no idea why you were under the impression that the controls would be changed, nothing even came close to hinting at that. I'm also pretty sure that controls will be the same in the final game, and I doubt you will be able to change the setup. I assume the main reason they are changed was to have an easy access Signature Skill button as one of the main faces as well as to make it easier to do Super Rising by having the flight buttons together.SammiiDoogles wrote:Hey guys, this is technically my first post here - I've been around on these boards for years but never signed up untill about a year ago but I never knew my account was activated until just now haha, so hey.

The colors aren't horrible, though they too take some getting used to. The shading style isn't my cup of tea, but the colors themselves are tolerable. They actually remind me much more of the Sparking series with how bright everything has become with Raging Soul instead of the dull shades from the original Raging Blast...matter of fact, even the normal mode colors really look nothing at all like Raging Blast.

I just remember reading about how the controls will be improved this time around. I just find them really counterintuitive; having block on R1 is a main one.
The Sparking controls just seemed to make more sense in a way.
Overall this game has been a bit of a dissapointment for me really; the Sparking games are some of the best DBZ games (especially the second) and I don't know why they had to change so much when they went to the next gen of platforms; just to make it seem more 'new' I guess.
I was all for Spike making more DBZ games but now I just want Dimps to make another because the last one I actually bought on this system was Burst Limit.
Don't get me wrong; They have improved a lot with this game:
Pros:
-Graphics are gorgeous, the environments look great while you play (Some grubby textures but overall very nice)
-Animations are much better
-Huge stages
-Better environment damage
Cons:
-Conterintuitive controls
-Awful camera still (They really need to bring back the lock on/off from Tenkaichi 2; made things so much more tolerable)
-Lots of breaks in the action, a lot of combos and such are small cutscenes which ruins the flow of things
-Ki attacks still look weak
-SLOW movement, seriously - this is DBZ, why is my fastest flying speed so slow...

Re: "Raging Blast 2" Pre-Release Discussion
If you know the right combo's, you can unleash a string of combo's that can take just as much damage to you opponent as an ultimate.LeprikanGT wrote:I haven't played the game yet but from what I hear, I don't think I would ever use it. I highly dislike the idea of me NOT being able to use any attacks besides a punch and a kick.
I don't see how a combo could be faster and stronger than an ultimate.

Do we have any idea if they are going to be using Kai replacements or not on the English side of things?

They are. Clinkenbeard confirmed she was voicing Gohan in the games from now on.TheMajinRedComet wrote:Do we have any idea if they are going to be using Kai replacements or not on the English side of things?

They're going to be using the same voices, grunts, music, Ultimate Attack cut-scenes, as they've been using since Budokai 1.

I don't know if this has been mentioned before but I noticed that you can only boost attacks if you have one health bar left.
AND you can press start during attacks again. Now we can watch the attacks in their whole glory.
