I don’t think there has to be any deep reason for collecting merchandise.
I’m only speaking for myself, but I collect DB stuff because I think it looks cool. Simple as.

It's something people enjoy. They like the looks of the figures. It's like any other collection, just Dragon Ball.

I collect DB figures/toys as homage to all the hours, days, and years I spent watching Dragonball; and the influence/impact it had on my childhood. It used to be common for everyone to go home watch an episode and then come back the next day and talk about it. For it to hold sway over the attention span of 100 little kids at the same time, I think I'd like to collect some stuff based on it. Also I like figures becuase I'm a kid at heart and I think they look excellent so why not?
