Was D.O.N. 2d or 3d?
Sort of like that I guess but More D characters and no O.N.

I don't like the idea of these crossover games very much. I think it has to be with series that look similar. For example, Street Fighter vs. King of Fighters vs. Fatal Fury would be freaking awesome. Mortal Komat vs. Street Fighter... is... passable. I mean it would be fun as hell, but the characters are kinda distanced. I liked the Marvel vs. Capcom games as a kid, but looking back at it, what the hell is Ryu doing in there with Mega Man? What's Wolverine doing in there with Chun-Li? These characters don't even look similar enough to believe they'd exist in the same plane! Their eyes are different, body stature, body proportions, etc.

Who cares about story and plausibility in a fighting game! You pick a character you like and you use him/her to beat the crap out your opponent. Almost every fighting game have a really stupid and/or convoluted story line which I promptly ignore and I believe most other gamers do. What's the first thing you do when you play a fighting game? Do you go "Hmm, I wonder what the story is about, what's inspires the characters to fight, and how did they all come to be in this universe?" No, you picked the controller or joy stick and think to yourself "Fuck yeah I'm going to kick some ass!"TheGreatness25 wrote:I don't like the idea of these crossover games very much. If they ever make a DBZ crossover I don't want plot, I don't want a story mode, hell I don't even want booklet with character descriptions. I just want to pick up my controller and have the time of my life.

No no I don't care about story. I'm just saying if the different characters don't look like they belong in the same world (whether it be powers, shape, proportions, etc.) then that's what I don't really like.

Totally! In fact, that's what we all thought in 1999 and again in 2000 and also in 2001 and later in 2003.TheGreatness25 wrote:For example, Street Fighter vs. King of Fighters vs. Fatal Fury would be freaking awesome.
(For the record, Fatal Fury is inherently a part of King of Fighters [and in fact is where the tournament began], so there's really no need to separate it out.)
I think they did a pretty amazing job working them all together in art style to fit in the same universe. It helped that Capcom was developing the "VS" series sorta beginning with Children of the Atom on the CPS-2 hardware where Street Fighter was already living, so the gradual incorporation of the two universes just got better and better as it went on.TheGreatness25 wrote:I liked the Marvel vs. Capcom games as a kid, but looking back at it, what the hell is Ryu doing in there with Mega Man? As for a crossover with DBZ, I'm pretty content with Jump Ultimate Stars

You obviously haven't played Smash in a competitive setting. Everything you just said applies to Smash.I just meant that like in Smash bros, everyone has a fair chance no matter how weak or strong. And in DBZ games theres a lot of depth to the fighting system and some characters are way weaker than others. A SSB type game would even the playing field and simplify thing to where everyone had one ultimate and a few smaller moves based on the few buttons used, like the button combos for SSB.
Like the Jump game, just with DBZ characters in a bigger game.

The most realistic, possible game we would get would be something like Shonen Jump vs. Capcom. It definitely wouldn't be Dragon Ball vs Capcom, simply because Dragon Ball isn't even the most popular Manga/Anime in Japan anymore (One Piece).
Imagine Ryu, Megaman, Chris Redfield and friends vs. Goku, Luffy, Kenshiro and friends. Shit would sell like hotcakes in both Japan and North America. It just might be the greatest game ever made if Capcom really puts time into it.

Re: What if: Capcom created a new cross-over game? (DB related)
If they did that, we'd FINALLY get a GOOD DBZ fighting game. I mean.. c'mon, they waste so much time trying to put every element of the show into a game, it makes it very weird and a high learning curve. I swear, the tutorial for every new DBZ game takes up half an hour sometimes.
If Capcom had any part of it, we'd finally have a kick-ass DBZ game with crazy SF-ish combos and death moves and things. Even Super DBZ which was praised as having some of the guys that worked on SF2 work on it turned out to be like a weird scaled down Budokai game.
DBZ Hyper Dimension came painfully close.. it just needed a bit more speed and smoother combos and it could have been SF/DBZ.

Please, god, explain to me how the fuck it's a "scaled down" Budokai game?Coola Yagami wrote:Even Super DBZ which was praised as having some of the guys that worked on SF2 work on it turned out to be like a weird scaled down Budokai game.
By the way, shouldn't this be in the Video Games section?

As others have stated this game wouldn't see release outside of Japan for the same reason Jump Ultimate Stars hasn't. The lisencing outside of Japan is a mess and there'd be too much papaerwork involved and too many deals to make for it to be worth the hassle.
Don't get me wrong, Goku vs Ryu would be fun to see but you won't find it in an official game.

I think I mentioned this in another thread, but it would be cool to have Dragonball vs the DCU.
Superman,DeathStroke,Batman, Flash, Green Lantern(Hal Jorden), Joker, Luthor, Darkseid, Doomsday... I mean I could go on. I would pre-order that game.

...Wait what are you doing? Are you still reading this? I finished what I had to say, why don't you move on to the next post?
