It's logically possible anyways, if you think about it...despite the destruction the A-Bomb caused, there were survivors, and not everyone was atomized instantly. That woman could be moaning in her death throes because the attack has her on the verge of not-quite-death. I agree that a little added moaning is much better than some of the dialogue runaround Saban gave us, though in terms of the other edits...CW is going way too far.Ishtar318 wrote:Better than "too bad it's Sunday, those buildings would have been full by tomorrow."DB_Fan1991 wrote:Yes he did, but afterwards you could hear a woman moaning.Turtle Marked Stone wrote:Edit: Did Nappa get away with blowing up the city with people in it?
I am seriously sorry about comparing the real-life A-Bomb tragedy to an alien energy attack in a cartoon (and Japanese of all things), but, well...

I like how the closed captions from the Nicktoons dub are the same on the CW dub. Even when Chaozu said nothing in the CW airing, switching to CC showed his dialogue was still there.

Sometimes closed captions will be like that, even when they don't show up regularly. Remember watching Tenchi on CN with captions on, though they weren't coming on for the most part, when we see Ayeka and Ryoko in their digital bikinis, captions do come up saying the word "naked" a few times.Tsukento wrote:I like how the closed captions from the Nicktoons dub are the same on the CW dub. Re: DragonBall Z Kai TV Network Version (CW4Kids\Toonzai) Edits!
Some of the earlier episodes of Kai on Nicktoons had the uncut dub's script in the CC, instead of the actual TV dub's lines.

Well naturally since the Toonzai version is an edited Nicktoons version. What else got edited? any redubbed lines? I was too tired to watch it today.LeprikanGT wrote:They went with Over Nine Thoooooousaaaaand!

More radioactive Popo, they completely cut out Goku checking on the dead bodies of his friends, and absolutely no mention of death at all. They added breathing sounds to Piccolo's body.DB_Fan1991 wrote:Well naturally since the Toonzai version is an edited Nicktoons version. What else got edited? any redubbed lines? This is insane. They should never have agreed to air this series if they had to go to these extents. What the fuck are they going to do when the plot of the entire next arc revolves around the fact that Piccolo died, thus the Dragonballs vanished, and they need to go to his home planet to find new ones and revive all their dead friends? That's to say absolutely nothing of the brutality content of the Freeza arc, but the premise itself. It will make absolutely no sense.G1Ravage wrote:They added breathing sounds to Piccolo's body.

"I know what we can do!! When Piccolo got beat up real bad, his energy faded so much that Kami disappeared, and so did the Dragonballs...but if we make this huge, maybe-not-even-scientifically-possible attempt to find his home planet which may or may not even have more Dragonballs on it, we can get them and wish them healthy again!!"

Passed by the end of one ep and captions were on and Nappa said something about Goku begging for mercy, when the captions said "begging for death". It also had captions of Vegeta speaking, but you don't hear it, though might've been from audio error that happens with some dvds/shows. Still, with what changes that have to be done, perhaps 4Kids should stick with shows like this where certain members of those who badmouth them won't watch.
Everyone I know says even the Japanese version of Magical Doremi was a little girls' cartoon.

I think we've clearly established by this point that Nicktoons is the place to watch the show. It's edited, sure, but within respectable limits. We're basically watching the CW4Kids version now for comedy's sake to see how horrible the edits are going to be.

"To think of fighting that is this fun...so, it was pleasant fight, as many as, therefore is a feeling which is good the fight where."

So? Dragon Ball is a little boys' cartoon. No need to think of "girly" as inferior or insulting...

Exactly. If it ran in Shonen Jump, it's a Shonen, and meant for little kids. Though, standards have changed even in Japan (JJBA continues as Steel Ball Run in a Seinen mangazine for instance), and anime mostly have more strict standards than manga, hence censoring (like with Fist of the North Star).Gaffer Tape wrote:So? I recall an interview with a member of 4Kids' online division, who ended up dealing with a lot of hate mail, though he was so rarely involved, in which he said they would try to air the Nicktoons version as is, but there was a chance changes would be made (that it wasn't up to them, but CW's standards. He admitted stuff they were accepting with on their old Fox Box days weren't allowed by the more strict CW).
For some reason, CW is particularly strict towards children's cartoons, who knew?

Well... agreed, all that is true, too. I was more thinking that males tend to think of anything perceived as "girly" to be inferior or emascuating or insulting, what have you. I thought he was reacting more to the "girls" than the "little" part, but I could be wrong.

No worries, though. I'm sure I'm not the only one here who was into Sailor Moon back in the day.

At this point, it looks like saban were the good guys.....
It would be great if they kept the line about Bardock being a brilliant scientist, maybe he could help them find the dragonballs.
