Happy 300th page in any case.

I say that if you don't like that people complain or criticize something, you are at the wrong place.
I think that there is nothing wrong with Videl. I mean, she has to be drawn taller than the girls. And since the artist has such a unique style, it's OK.
But I still understand that people don't like the art or think that Videl looks odd.
I mean, art is perceived very differently by different people.
And, of course, it's a pretty sharp turn when it comes to art-style from what we have seen before, so it may take time for people to get used to it.
Story-wise, I think that it's good, but not that exciting. I am not that interested in Vegetto's past to be honest. The story itself makes it pretty clear that he got Bra with Bulma, and that he trained Pan and Bra.
I don't really need to know more.
I understand that it takes Salagir & Co. more time to work on the original story, though.

I like this page a lot. Videl decided to train instead of giving up entirely but she will eventually throw in the towel when she realizes that her own daughter could beat her into the ground.

I find it interesting when someone criticizes someone for criticizing something, while defending and arguing the right to complain about anything. Don`t you find it a little incoherent? Just a little?Godo wrote:People have the right to have preferences, right?rereboy wrote:People just like to bitch. When I criticize someone for criticizing something, I do it because I don`t agree with what he/she is complaining about and often I state why I don`t agree. Or, if there is a great number of complains, I just state that everyone is overreacting, which was what I did in this thread. "People just like to bitch. If something is not to what people consider to be their "awesome" standart, they just tend to complain, complain, complain...", or, in short, people like to, and are, overreacting (in general and in this case).
I never stated that a right to state these complains shouldn`t exist, unlike you who seemed to state exactly that about what I said, implying that I shouldn`t ever criticize someone who is criticizing something. You would be right if I actually meant that they shouldn`t even have a right to complain or shouldn`t state their opinions, but that`s is not the case. I just happen to not agree with them and I will state just that and complain about it, just like they have a right to complain about what they were complaining about (but always about their opinion and not about their right to their opinions. See the difference?).
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Actually, what you did was to reduce people's opinions into them just liking to bitch and complain, instead of meeting their opinions in a debate or adding some of your own thoughts.rereboy wrote: I find it interesting when someone criticizes someone for criticizing something, while defending and arguing the right to complain about anything. In fact, that's mostly what you do in this thread when people are not satisfied with certain elements.
To actually dwarf people's unsatisfaction of certain events in DB:M by saying that they like to be unsatisfied is just plain rude and not fair at all.
I believe that instead of complaining about other people complaining, a more constructive path would be to explain why you think that it's good, something that you can see in my post that I wrote, and apparently you missed all that except for my "complaints" over you complaining over that other members complain. I think that it says a lot about you!
And to add, most of your posts here are about being unhappy with people complaining about certain things in DB:M!
Furthermore, you also tend to ridicule other members by telling them that, no, their opinions are not differing because of that they have a valid point, but rather that they like being unhappy!
So instead of trying to make a post where you try to make me seem like a hypocrite by complaining about you complaining about other members complaining, you could actually tried to be more patient with people in this thread and more understanding, something which is not much to ask from a reasonable and mature human being, is it not!
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Everything had already being said. Its a pretty interesting and different art style with funny situations instead of a normal storyline. Nothing more. And everything about the need of these specials to exist has already been said.
Instead of repeating myself I basically agreed with what Dayspring said and added that people do tend and like to exaggerate in their complains (in pretty much everything, not just DB, DBM or this special, by the way). There was nothing more to add. At least not something that hadn`t already been stated more than once.
And then you basically said that, since people have a right to complain, I shouldn`t complain about the fact that they are complaining.
And I corrected you by saying that I`m just complaining about their opinion since I don`t agree with them and think that they are exaggerating, which is also my right. Its very different to complain about their opinions than to complain about their right to express their opinions.
And now you just pretty much criticized... well... me, on a somewhat "personal" level.
Look, I don`t want to derail the topic any further so I`ll just say this: my post (and any other post made by me) was not meant to diminish anyone`s opinion or to insult anyone and I`m sorry that you feel that way. What I meant with it, I`ve already explained and I`m sorry if I phrased it poorly.
But I won`t stop expressing my opinions out of fear of hurting someone`s feelings, even if expressing my opinions means that I will criticize their opinions. I won`be afraid of disagreeing with people and I won`t resort to "tiptoeing" my way across the forum, always triple checking my posts to see if anything about them can be interpreted as something that others may not like. As long as I`m following the forum rules and trying to be civilized, and I`m not trying to insult anyone or their opinions (or diminish them) on purpose (and I really wasn`t trying to do that), I believe I`m not doing anything wrong, even though you might believe differently.
Still, if you truly believe that my behavior in the forum is poor, then I will try to be even more respectful.

I'm really torn in regards to this art style. Sometimes it looks bad (like Videl), and other times it looks really awesome (like that coloured Vegeto above).

When its colored it looks even better because the color add more different levels of depth.Piccolo Daimaoh wrote:I'm really torn in regards to this art style. Sometimes it looks bad (like Videl), and other times it looks really awesome (like that coloured Vegeto above).

That's probably it, since that coloured picture of Bra a few pages back looked spectacular.rereboy wrote:When its colored it looks even better because the color add more different levels of depth.Piccolo Daimaoh wrote:I'm really torn in regards to this art style. Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Yeah, Pof has some trouble in that aspect. Gogeta Jr, of course, has no such trouble. His black and white drawings look as good as the colored ones despite not having color (and the colorist is the same).
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I think that the problem with the depth of the images is due to the lack of shadowing.
If you look at Toriyama's art, it's not very detailed when it comes to shadowing at all, especially when it comes to black and white manga panels, but you still see some essential shadowing giving the images some depth. Examples:

and

As you see, not much shadowing there, but enough to add some depth.
So my opinion is that color isn't the issue here.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
But Faye, as she colors the art, adds different colors corresponding to different shadowing effects (darker colors, lighter colors), giving the color drawings a depth that doesn`t exist in the original Pof drawings.
The fact that it has colors isn`t the issue like you said, but Faye`s process allows us to see that depth is a issue.
Since Gogeta Jr has no such issue, this isn`t apparent when Faye colors his art.

I eagerly await Rocketman's approval of this page.
"I didn't understood anything" is the only thing glaringly wrong, other that it's pretty funny.

Art wise, I think this has been my favorite page of the special. Vegetto looked much more natural.

"I didn't understood anything".
That one line made this whole special worthwhile.
