Ah..
Sorry.
Get it know.

So this has been proven to be wrong huh? Damn it since I was looking forward to a new series since we have something to talk about for once other then new games, and DVD's release from Namco and Funimation.

Some people seem to be clinging on to the idea that since they said no remake and not that Toriyama will not be continuing it it could still happen.
But still, I wonder what the guy who runs BleedingCool news or his source misinterpreted to get new
Dragon Ball being simultaneous translated worldwide(unless the people clinging on to hope are right). Unless it was a complete lie. In which case...

As far as sourcing goes, people with sensitive insider sources typically can't reveal them to the world, or else they could risk their source getting into a lot of trouble. (Remember that whole secret about Chris Ayres as the new Freeza?) Even trusted mainstream media outlets tend to refer to "our sources" without getting into any detail. You just have to learn who really has reliable sources, and who's a nonsense-spewing blowhard. Both of these guys seem pretty reputable, but as a news source, Rich Johnston seems like the one who'd be more in the know. It's possible that Masters of Manga's source doesn't know about this yet, or was just being sly by only denying a "remake."
I'm still skeptical about the whole thing, but if this is true, it could be weeks or even months before we get an official announcement.

I came across this earlier today:
Link
It's a tweet by some guy named "Masters of Manga." Obviously, I'm skeptical that this guy actually did meet with someone, but after checking
his website out, I'd say he looks pretty legit.
Edit: Just found out someone on this forum got to it before me. Oh well.

Someone needs to get Viz to comment, that'd be one way to be sure.

Doesn't tell us much, but we'll find out sometime next week.

I don't think those tweets are even related to this...

Those questions don't even seem to be directed at anything DB related...

The Viz folks were tweeting last week about a big announcement to come this week, and they have already done a simultaneous release with Rumiko Takahashi’s Rin-ne, so this indeed may be their big news. Stay tuned!
Not sure if you've seen the link before, but basically VIZ have been tweeting about a "big announcement", so it could have something to do with Dragon Ball.

They did say the news would "change everything," so it's either DragonBall or Jump "simulpublishing."
In an ideal world we'd get both, but I'm almost 100% sure we'll get one of the two.

I'm pretty sure Viz's big "changes everything" announcement is this:
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/20 ... a-ipad-app
They're trying to enter the whole legally reading books on the ipad scene, but the thing is
unless they can get it so that they simultaneously release new chapters as they come out in Japan, they're never going to be able to squash scanslations.
They need to be able to do with their currently-running manga series what Funi does with the One Piece anime.
As it looks right now it's just the same manga volumes that are currently available in U.S. bookstores, only in a digital format.
On hiatus.

I'd buy Dragonball again if I could carry it on an iPad or something similar. Even on my Droid it'd be cool! I wouldn't have to worry about what volume I want to take with me when I go somewhere. I can just read any of them on a compact device!
Cool idea. Hopefully they catch up to the pace of scanslations. I don't want this falling through.

If the Ipad thing is the big announcement, I`ll be very disappointed. By the way they were "selling" the announcement I really thought it was something good (even if it wouldn`t be related to Dragon Ball).
The Ipad thing is just... Meh

So we might get a big announcement this week huh? I will keep my eye on this news for sure, I'm still up for a new series unless long if it give us something new unlike GT which most of it where old ideas reused (Bebi and Super 17 saga for example).

I think if it were on TV there would be a lot more reports.

If it were on TV, then there's a really good chance that we'd know about it already. After all, there are some pretty obscure and flat out weird Dragon Ball related things that people who frequent this site are well aware of, such as that "Super Battle Stage" thing from a little while back. I'm not trusting some random guy on the internet without any source or evidence of any kind saying that Toriyama's writing something new that's Dragon Ball related.
