Just saw Goku's butt and a gun to the head. Guess it really is uncensored.

Holy shit! I never thought I'd see a real gun, being used to SHOOT SOMEONE IN THE HEAD, on Cartoon Network!

Before censors got crazy, used to see that on Looney Tunes all the time.

Yeah, now-a days it was only allowed on late-night Adult Swim, but last night's DBZ episode had it's standard TV-PG rated 10:30 timeslot, I was extremely surprised that episode was left totally untouched, plus they didn't try and hide the fact the henchwoman just blew her brains out with any moronic dialouge. And also, leaving Goku's adult rear-end out in the open, very bold move. By the way, was I the only one laughing my ass off when Princess Snake's henchwoman blew her brains out?

I don't get it...if you're allowed to show this stuff on CN, then why the hell has FUNi been censoring the series for all these years (I'm talking about after Saban)? Was it all just a ploy to sell uncut videos or something? Now that we know this stuff can be shown uncut on TV, all the previous censorship (Freeza through Buu sagas, DB, and GT) seems really stupid in retrospect.

What the hell was FUNi thinking?

Even at 5 in the afternoon? Plus, standards have changed in the last few years. And I don't see how FUNimation would be in the wrong here, since they were censoring it for CN.

I would like to know what will happen when Vegeta and others start flipping the bird, I mean, can they even show that?

Through the part they are redubbing I really cannot recall too many instances of the bird (maybe 1.....) if any off the top of my head but I'm not sure on that one, it's not the sort of thing I tend to remember.

As far as that goes though, being a cable station CN is allowed to air it, though I think Cartoon Network Standards and Practices would likley step in on that situation.

As far as why they are airing it uncut now? I think that has to deal with needing a hook to get people to watch "old" episodes. So yeah, I'd say it's a ratings ploy.

Honestly if it somehow causes a stir, why would Funimation care at this point? They just have a few releases left as far as the whole of the franchise is concerned and at this point in it's lifecycle any attention is good attention.

Yes attention would be good for Dragonball.

When Manhunt on the PS2 got banned in the UK, Dixons(a shop) stopped selling the game, hoping other shops would follow suit, but HMV carried on selling it and it starting selling in big numbers.

If they tried to stop it on CN and banned it the DVD's would sell big time.

Then you never know, another channel could buy the licence.

I hope this isn't necroposting, but anyone else while watching last night's episode, laugh at the scene of Yajirobe biting Krillin's butt?

Eh, it's just under a week, so I suppose you're safe. I think necroposting is more like a month or over 10 days... (Am I the only one who wishes Mike would actually give us a chart of what is and isn't necroposting?)

And yeah, I laughed too. It was so... random.

I laughed at the ass bite, mainly because I originally thought Yajirobe simply bit a cheek, I didn't know he'd go the entire nine yards. And by the way, looks like we've got "KAY-OKEN" despite "KAI-OKEN" being used in the Sagas game, FUNi is very dissapointing considering how they broke their own continuity with Radtiz's "3 years ago, our planet was destroyed" line and yet can't go with "KAI-OKEN" when "KAY-OKEN" after the Namek saga is truthfully only said 4 times along with movie 4 through the rest of the series.

At least when Nappa and Vegeta touched down, there was no "empty buildings" line. Though last night, when Roshi was talking to Goku with the door closed was hilarious when you saw Bulma and the others' faces and you knew their thoughts.

Right now the ep where the fight with the Saibamen is starting is on. Nappa just blew up the news copter and there was no crap about parachutes thank goodness.

Hopefully you'll get to see what really happens when Vegeta skins a Saibaimen, you see it's skeleton and all.

I say hopefully but I don't live in the US so it won't make a difference for me, it's just nice to know fans are getting the real DBZ.

And good that they take out stupid things like the parachute part, we all know the truth, and I hope they don't add other dumb lines in future episodes where they are not needed.

You don't have to worry about any lines like the buildings or parachutes. The only reason those were inserted to begin with, was because Saban didn't like the whole idea of death, and had to make sure the show met the standards of multiple networks because it was syndicated when those episodes were originally dubbed.

When they moved to CN for season 3, they could finally get away with less edited dialogue and scenes. Likewise, these redubbed eps they're showing now were made specifically for the DVDs and to be shown on CN, so there's little censorship involved.

I'm actually staring to like Funimation's plan to re-dub the episodes after they had finished with the series. You see, lots of people like DBZ because of the things like blood and people getting beaten the sh*t of of, as goes for saying 'up yours' and Roshi's doings to add. That's why lot's of fans prefer the later episodes.

Now, when people see how the early episodes were really like it will revive the show, people are going to say 'hold on, these episodes are just as good(if not better) as the later episodes'.

I definately prefer some of the early episodes in a way, mainly in Japanese of course, the plot is just good.

Of course. The early stuff is before Toriyama started pulling things out of his bum. Even the filler was still good, then.

Honestly, this was back when Yamcha dying made me cry.

The grainy-ness of the video never bothered me.

Anyway, I still wish we could get the origional music.
