Wasn't sure if I wanted to listen, and I take a little bit of issue with repeating something off-the-cuff like this from a panel, but since it's being discussed (transcribed from the end of one video into the next, and cutting off before it heads off into different territory):
TeamFourStar Panel wrote:Q: Have you ever had any angry messages from anyone (...) the original DBZ series?
A: Oh god, I think that's called Daizenshuu EX? (mumbled) Don't defend them Kaiser!
(mumbled)
Are they? I know there are a few people on there that just... "How dare you take what I love and crap on it!"
(mumbled with audience)
There are some people who so -- only on the forums. The people who actually run the site are great. We've actually been on their podcast a few times. VegettoEX... those guys are awesome.
I
do think the answer was a little disingenuous because I
do see an overwhelming positive and appreciative response to every single episode in this thread, so I really don't know where that answer could have come from other than, like I've stated above, just being an off-the-cuff, fun-for-a-panel kind of thing.
I dunno. I'm a little protective of you all and don't want folks to get the wrong idea

. It's not like I haven't had disagreements (publicly in this very thread) with some of the technical and humorous things with the parody series, and it's not like some folks here have never said, "Oh, I didn't really find that funny..."
... but the answer given leads the attendee to think that the product is being shat on at any given opportunity (and perhaps solely for "purist reasons"), which just isn't the case. I'm a little sad that it was represented that way to people whom otherwise wouldn't think that in a million years.
But hey, we all say things.
