GameBoy (Advance Adventure) Compatibility Question

Post by Slickmasterfunk » Wed Jul 20, 2005 2:40 pm

I was thinking about getting a European copy of "Dragon Ball: Advance Adventure" since it's in English and all. I know that a GBA/SP (and all Gameboys before it) can play import games from anywhere without a problem, but I was wondering if imports are compatible with the Gamecube's Gameboy Player. I ask because I probably play my GBA games on my Gamecube more than my actual Gameboy.

The GameBoy Player, from Japan so far, will play any GameBoy, GameBoy
Color and GameBoy Advance from any region of the world (North America,
Europe, Japan). There are a few exceptions, such as games with a tilt
sensor, rumble feature, or accessories like the GameBoy Camera.
So yes, it'll play games from any region.

WARNING: The EU version hasn't got Makafushi Adventure in it.

Yeah, but it's got the original voices, which is a plus. (Atleast for the little you hear of them, when you're attacking.)

And slickmaster:
If you're going to get this game, and you go to like eBay or somewhere, I wouldn't suggest paying any higher than between 10-to-15GBP (Euro currency, which translates to about $17.00-to-$26.00.)

I bought mine on eBay from a user called "rightprice", whom althought it took a little over a week and a half to ship was an excellent seller, and I got my item in excellent condition.

So... uh... Happy importing!

That's alright. If I want to watch that I can always pop in one of my Dragon Ball DVDs. I'm just interested in the game.

Hey, thanks for all the information guys. I really appreciate it.

You're very welcome, Slick. And as I said last post, I hope your buying goes very well, like mine had.

I didn't even know Advanced Adventure was released in Europe. I'm pretty behind when it comes to video games. So, I'll probably import it also.

The "GBP" isn't the Euro currency, it's the British Pound. England doesn't use Euros.

Sorry about that, I am not as up on the currency as I should be.
I bought my copy of AA from a vender, in the United Kingdom, and it was the Euro version... so I goofed up a bit.
But either way though, it was listed with a GBP price tag. That much I know! Heh. :P

I've played "Fire Emblem: Sealed Sword" (JP) and "Zelda: A Link to the Past" (EU) on all my different GB Players and work great! GBA games are always universal, the only thing that changes on GBs is the voltage for the charger.

That's okay. England uses the same games as the rest of Europe but it doesn't use the same currency (and neither do Switzerland and Denmark I think).

Yeah, damn English, always trying to be different: driving on the left and not participating with the Euro :P

Just out of curiousity, since you seem to have a better understanding of currency, than I, what does "GBP" stand for? I keep thinking of goofy things, but I would definitely be interested in knowing if GBP is an acronym for a larger word, or just a title, or something...

As I wrote earlier, the "P" stands for "Pound" so I guess that "GBP" stands for "Great Britain Pound".

That would put things in perspective. Thanks for clearing that up.

I know it's offtopic, but:
The GameBoy Player, from Japan so far, will play any GameBoy, GameBoy
Color, GameBoy Advance, games with a tilt sensor, rumble feature and ones that use the Gameboy Camera from any region of the world (North America, Europe, Japan). There are a few possible exceptions, such as games that use accessories like the GameBoy Printer.

Due to the next post:
RE-FIXED!!! :P

FIXED!!! :P
And actually, the Gameboy Camera works too. I haven't tried the printer, though.
