Back when Dragonball Z was on Toonami.... It was just so fun and peaceful, Back when we were kids.
Every Sunday Dragonball Z would be on Cartoonnetwork (Correct me if i'm wrong), Bruce Faulconer's music played in every epic battle, But one particular Saga always maybe me emotional, The Trunks Saga. I mean whenever I listen to "Heaven Sent Trunks" I get all teary-eyed, I know some of you might not agree with me and say stuff like, "Bruce Faulconer sucked! The Japanese audio is awesome!". But come on you guys have to rememeber the first time most of us saw Dragonball Z was when we were kids/teens.
Now take a listen to this theme and try not to get emotional and remember all the fun we had as kids when Dragonball Z was on Toonami.

P.S. Post your favorite theme used during Bruce Faulconer's age or Your favorite moment in Dragonball Z that makes you emotional.

Since your focus seems to be on the Trunks episodes, they aired weekdays from Labor Day in 2000 through the week after Christmas that year. Cartoon Network opened its Toonami block with DBZ at 5:00 every weekday, which was the same schedule it followed the previous year. In November, they started airing miscellaneous things on Fridays, like Movies 1-3 and something else.

Man, Trunks is just so amazing, His past is so tragic and full of sorrow. Trunks is the kind of character that i've always liked, The Silent- Mysterious Future boy.

Everytime I hear "Heaven sent Trunks" I can't help but to get a little bit emotional.

Faulconer just really knew how to express Future Trunks through his music. It's awesome.
When I watch his story though it's a surprise that AT didn't make Trunks a stereotypically bitter, angsty character. It would have made sense, but it also would have sucked. ^^"
I think you're right with this topic, the Trunks saga really is a golden age in DBZ.

I'd actually say the Golden Age was before that -- the loop of the 53 Ocean episodes from the beginning to the Ginyu Force. Believe they also ran on Toonami (pretty sure that's before they had that weird fat robot dude as the "host"), two per day. By the time the new eps with the Funi dub came out, a lot of people had lost interest. Obviously, I kept watching.
Anyway, I'd say this was my favorite moment:

My favorite individual theme is "Gohan Powers Up"

So epic especially Goku's line before the song starts "This is Super Saiyan 2 or Ascended Super Saiyan...and this is to go beyond that!"
Most emotional scene

Vegeta's death gets me every time ;-; Especially with Bruce's music.
"I am the hope of the universe. I am the answer to all living things that cry out for peace. I am protector of the innocent, I am the light in the darkness. I am truth. Ally to good, nightmare to you!" - Goku

That old Trunks commercial brought back memories of watching old dub tapes with my friends in elementary school. Oddly enough, I remember the Trunks add acutally being on the Trunks videos, which certainly is odd marketing. I used to brag about my videos being uncut, saying it is more awesome than the version that my friends would see on tv haha. Faulconer does carry a lot of nostolgia for me, but I like just listening to the CDs nowadays, and I'd prefer JP music while actually watching the show.
A few notable tracks in my opinion:
(unreleased) Android 20 theme

Majin Vegeta theme

While I normally prefer the original JP soundtrack, I'm not too stuck up to admit that "Heaven Sent Trunks" and all variations of it are really awesome. The scene where Goku sacrifices himself to beat Cell is great and still gets me every time. I also really enjoy the track "
New Earth Music" and when they used it in the scene where Goku appears before all his friends at the beginning of the 25th Tenkaichi Budokai, I think it really captures the emotion well. Other than that though, I'm not really much for the Faulconer score.

This was definitely the golden age. Although I doubt most people lost interest as Season 3 literally sent the ratings through the roof (despite Chris Psaros wanting the apocalypse to happen before it aired on CN

).
I was still quite loyal, even catching the re-runs of the 53 episodes even though I had them all recorded on VHS.

I rewatched those episodes countless times on WB, UPN, and then CN. (Even though I had them recorded as well, I still have my VHS from those days.) I waited for years for those season 3 episodes only to have that "what the..!?" moment when all the voices were different. I was disappointed in the change, but finally "new" DBZ!

Favorite them:
Perfect Cell
My friends and I used to go crazy after hearing it.
Favorite emotional scene:
Majin Vegeta vs. Goku (skip to the 2:37 mark)
I can not stress how much I love this whole scene. Vegeta admits to Goku that no matter how hard he tries he will always be second best. He purposely allowed himself to fall under Babidi's spell, not because he wanted to be stronger (okay maybe a little) but he wanted the evil in heart to be awaken again. He settled on earth, fell in love, started a family, he's no longer cold ruthless warrior he was before. In my opinion that whole fight was Vegeta's midlife crisis and because of his confession/speech this is the best fight in the entire Z series. Beautiful. Simply Beautiful.
I think... I think I have something in my eye. Excuse me.

The Golden Age of DBZ was before Funimation got its mits on it.
Kentai wrote:Son Gokuu is a fascinating character anyway, because he is - at face value, anyway - an idiot savant. The victim of violent head trauma as an infant [...] he's a simple bumpkin with a fair share of brain damage who's natural talents to work out what's wrong compensate for his broad lack of common sense. But he's also a fighter, through and through [...] he fight until he has, in no uncertain terms, beaten his enemy on terms they can both acknowledge. He doesn't want to kill anyone, or even prove that he can win... he just wants to know he can. He's an ineffably charming bastard who's manly leanings were really incendental, and yes, the fact that he was voiced by a squeaky woman made the combination perhaps all the more charming.
