The Redub of Movies 2 and 3

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

The Redub of Movies 2 and 3

Post by Chuquita » Fri Jul 22, 2005 10:01 pm

Has anything been released as to when they're planning to redub movies 2 and 3. Or at least a list of the voice casts for each?

I'm curious as to whether Goku's va is going to voice Turles (since they look near-identical) or if they're going to use someone else (Justin Cook or Chris Sabat?) for his redub voice.
On hiatus.

Well, the Ocean VA of Turles did also voice Nail as well. And seeing as Sean Schemmel does both Goku and Nail, it'd only make sense for him to be casted as Turles. His evil Senobe voice from Spiral would own IMO.
I will like you if you will like me.

I think he meant is Goku's VA going to use the same voice for Turles as well, so they would also sound identical.

I think that would be a good idea but only if he makes it a more dark and sinister voice so you can tell the difference if both Goku and Turles are in the same scene and one of them is talking off screen.

I'll tell you what I know on the matter.

1.) We know they're doing those, because they said they are. In all likelyness they're probably already dubbed, and are just sitting waiting in a lonely spot on FUNimations release callendar.

2.) I believe that we will be seeing film two, before three, if FUNi is in any way attempting to be as consistent with numbered releases with the re-dub movies, as they had been with the other movies, thus far. However I wouldn't put it past FUNimation to copy-cat Pioneer again, and release 3 second.

3.) We have no idea who will be voicing the other characters of film 2, or 3, it's all really up in the air right now. My guess is that for distinguishability, FUNi will give Tullece his own VA'. As to whom it may be, one can only speculate.

To conclude, all we really know is that they're going to re-dub them, and re-release them. They've already started with Deadzone, but their further releases are still as up in the air as it can get. We will just have to wait until either A.) they mention something, or B.) The release charts that come with the DBZ dvds reflect one of those films in it's listings. But I will say this, since we're getting another movie, and we've had three Ultimate Uncut releases this year alone, we probably wont see any more releases until next year.

I was thinking that they'd use Sonny Strait's Bardock voice for Turles, but make it a bit edgier. I could perhaps see them using Justin Cook's Raditz voice, but as for Sabat... no, I don't think he'd work at all for Turles.
Battle High 2, starring Kyle Hebert as well as myself, has been released on Xbox 360, OUYA, PC, Linux, Mac, and Xbox One!

Straight's Bardock was great, even though the rest of the dub sucked. I could see that being used for Turles, but I would preferr Schemmel

I'd personally welcome the thought of Tullece being voiced by Sean Schemmel (sp?). I mean, in the Japanese version, Masako Nozawa did both Goku and Tullece (in more or less the same voice), and that seemed to work. But then again, we can't expect FUNi to do things the Japanese way, now can we...?
BGM forever! If only more people paid attention to it... well, I intend to change that.

Nah, there's a difference in how they're voiced.

Goku has his typical, fast-speaking, high-pitched, hick voice. Tullece speaks much slower, properly, and isn't as high.

I found Tullece had a deeper voice as well as what you mentioned.

And no jokes on how I caved from using "Taresu!" I didn't realize how many people consistently used "Tullece" here :P

Yeah, the voice is definitely deeper.

I don't care if you use "Taresu". I do have a word filter on "Turles" which turns it into "Tullece," though; blatant dub name changes irk me, and I change them back, accordingly :P. A couple posts in here were affected by it.
