Incorrect credits for some voices in movie guides at daizex

Post by RazorX » Tue Nov 09, 2010 8:37 am

I've browsed the Daizex website long before I joined the forum. One of the things I noticed while looking at the DBZ movie guide pages is that some credits for the voices of characters appear to be incorrect.

In Movie 1 Daizex has listed Dave Ward as the voice of Garlic Jr. I'm very certain that Garlic Jr was voiced by Don Brown (I'd be shocked if he wasn't, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong though).

ANN has Don Brown listed as the voice of Garlic Jr, so if that is correct, any chance the page on Daizex could be corrected, perhaps by Mike/VegettoEX?

Also, Daizex has listed Dale Wilson as the voice of Gyu Mao/Ox King. As far as I know, Ox King is voiced by Dave Ward.

Movie 2 has listed Dave Ward as Kame Sennin, is this confirmed? I was under the impression that Kame Sennin was voiced by Don Brown in movie 2 and Peter Kelamis in movie 3 (Uncut version, edited version had Ian Corlett as Kame Sennin.)

If I recall correctly, back on DBZ Uncensored, Chris Psaros originally critisized Peter Kelamis for his performance as Kame-Sennin, but later apologised and corrected himself when it turned out to be Dave Ward voicing him.

On another note, in DB movie 2, I'm fairly sure Goku is voiced by Ceyli Delgadillo, but Daizex lists him as being voiced by Stephanie Nadolny.

I'll be honest in saying that a lot of those credits probably have some copy-and-paste errors from when they were put up alongside the site re-launch in 2003 and we were just rushing crap out. They've been widely ignored since then. What I'm probably going to do is just flat-out remove English voice credits entirely (since they're rather irrelevant to the section) and fix up some of the formatting more in line with how it was done on later pages.

I didn't intend this to lead to the removal of the English credits, they are mostly accurate and are useful. I know back when I was not as informed on the dubs and sub as I am now, I enjoyed comparing who voiced a character in the Japanese version and who voiced him in the English version, your table provided easy and useful information comparisons. If you don't have the time to correct the English cast, it's not a big problem because it's only one or 2, the rest are spot on, why remove the work you've already put in when it's useful :)
