Oh jeeze, really? I mean, she was ok for some speaking lines, but she never really emoted enough for Goku.
I honestly really enjoyed Nadolny's Goku in comparison. On her own, she was a good fit, but I'm very interested to hear Colleen in the role. Hopefully they'll take it seriously and she'll really give her best performance.
Delgadillo had that "Peanuts character authentic" sound, like it was really a kid playing him. Like it's Peter Robbins. The problem is, as you stated, she didn't really get his enthusiasm.

If you are a boy, you likely sounded like a girl when you were the age Gohan is through at least half of DBZ.

Well that's understandable, but actors move on from roles all the time. This is just something you gotta accept. Like how Mark Hamill is stepping down as the Joker for good!

to that.

I can agree with you on that, at least.

Great! Glad to see that COTBR will FINALLY be released uncut, redubed, and have the Kai cast.

I always liked Nadolny's Goku more than her Gohan, but I am at least willing the new actress a chance. Remember the original DB movies are probably the most inconsistent part of the franchise anyways, so I am already use to different voices. In general I bet she will at least be better than the actress that did movie 2 and 3.

Am I the only one is slightly disappointed that Oolong is recast? Nadolny's Goku isn't perfect or even all that great, but I do wish the dub was consistent. I'll be getting it anyway though, as I am perfectly happy with a subbed version.

You're complaining on a message board. You're not even close to taking this hard.
And enjoy being in the minority on the "hardcore fan" front. Most people don't give a shit; Dragon Ball is Dragon Ball, so long as it is in English.

The voice of Dende, if I recall correctly.
I'm excited to finally get the movie in a completely unedited format, but I haven't watched much of Kai so I can't say I have much of an opinion on Clinkenbeard.
This will never not be my sig:

Again, another actor who isn't really doing work for FUNi anymore. Bradford Jackson had a pretty small list of roles to begin with, as well. You've got to remember, most of these guys started in Dragon Ball Z's dub for Season 3 and weren't really all that into voice acting to begin with.

Praise Kami we're getting a good cast. It's nice that FUNi is actually being consistent with their cast now on any new dub material. I was wondering if and when a new dub would be confirmed. Or a dub that isn't edited.
Now to wait for all the shenanigans with the whole replacements, which has already started . And to that I say:

Aren't there more things to talk about?
Also I never understood this idea, "Yeah Naldony's Gohan wasn't good but her Goku was GREAT!". It's essentially the same voice. Not to mention if you're going by visuals the voice is more inappropriate. Although I don't dislike Naldony that much, so I'm not going to rant.

Nadolny played Goku very differently. Also, as far as visuals go, I felt the "voice" fit Goku better. Not to mention, it wasn't exactly the same voice. She took out some of the rasp for Goku too.

Yeah, don't mind me.

I was aware he's not really with them anymore, but that was one of the voices of the dub that I liked a lot for the character. I'm not one of those rabid "how are you change this" type fans, it's just something that will be slightly missed. I'm (for the most part) enjoying the Kai dub just fine.

I'm not THAT much of a hardcore fan, just a little bit bothered when they change things like this.

I don't see the big deal about Oolong's recast. Brian Massey's sound is different than Brad Jackson's, but adds a similar croaky quality to it that both Jackson and Alec Willows did.
I'm just glad Monica Rial is Bulma. Really, really glad.

Ehhh... Okay. I still find them the same. How exactly would you say it's different, raspiness is only slightly toned down. It still irks me. About the visuals I meant like how Goku is even shorter than Cell Games-Gohan so... I don't know.
Especially now that I'm playing through Revenge of King Piccolo, that voice is getting irritating. It's hard to sit through it when I boot it up. If only kid-Krillin's english voice could stop me from switching language tracks, but alas.
Also this:

I can deal with Naldony but not Volmer. Hooray for non-valley girl Bulma!

I actually think Volmer's voice fit Bulma really well, it's just that I felt her acting was rather one-dimensional. Once you heard one line from her, you've heard them all. There's little to no emotional inflection. Rial, on the other hand, has a voice that fits Bulma AND she can vary her delivery appropriately, so she's a better casting choice, I think.

Not a big deal at all, I just liked him. I haven't heard too much of Brian Massey's take on the character though, so I can't really judge fairly.

Y'know, while it's a good thing that the film's new dub will have the Kai cast, what kind of indication do we have that it will get the "Kai treatment" in other respects? I think FUNimation has moved beyond things like replacing music by now, but what should we expect in terms of script quality? On-par with Kai, I hope?
