Curse of the Blood Rubies WILL Have a New Dub--CONFIRMED

Y'know, while it's a good thing that the film's new dub will have the Kai cast, what kind of indication do we have that it will get the "Kai treatment" in other respects? I think FUNimation has moved beyond things like replacing music by now, but what should we expect in terms of script quality? On-par with Kai, I hope?

Well, I hope by now they would realize we want a translation that's as accurate to the original material as possible. So hopefully something on-par with Kai!

I'd expect something around the same quality as Kai's script. Considering the dub translation for the original series was a leagues above DBZ, it'll probably be just fine.

I have a feeling they remastered the DB movies when they remastered the DBZ movies and they have just been sitting on these masters. So it should look decent from modern encoding alone.

I fear they'll re-use the original script out of laziness. What's to stop them? That's what they did for Movies 1-3 with DBZ (and for some God-awful reason they even used the Saban script of 3).

I think we are past those days. If they weren't going all out why even redub it? Just reuse the old and only english dub of movie 1. I think they got the Kai cast for a reason.

Well, for one thing, the old dub wouldn't even sync with the original footage due to all the cuts, additions and alterations.

By page 2 of this thread, it was already a bunch of back-and-forth about Clinkenbeard vs Nadolny and almost everyone was sure they were right no matter what anyone else had to think. So, I skipped most of this thread because I've seen that same argument happen a million times. Anywho, onto my thoughts:

On one hand, I'm excited about this dub! I love the Kai cast!
On the other hand, it makes it inconsistent with the series.
With the help of a third hand, the movies and series were never too consistent on cast, anyway. Remember Mystical Adventure?

Overall, I'm thinking I'm going to buy this just to see what a Dragonball dub would be like if done with today's cast.

This will be the first time I've seen "Blood Rubies" for the first time. Ever. That's a good enough reason to be excited!

Invest? If you mean buy it.. I probably will not. However, Kaboom is making a really big deal out of what I said. I really don't care at all about the dub to be honest, I'm just giving a comedy relief to some people out there. I'm simply reflecting what's already been said. Not sure how I got a "last warning," though. Aside from that, It's nice to see FUNimation do something new. I'm curious to see how better she got at her voice acting. ^_^.

There's no reason to "reflect" or summarize what's already been said. People can read through the thread on their own. All of that "hahahaha" comes off as nothing more than mockery of others' displeasure in the casting. Whatever it is, it's not cute or funny.

If you "don't care at all about the dub," then don't post just to make fun of people that do.
