Dr. Gero's Theme (Androids Extended) MIDI

Post by Lord Exor » Fri Sep 03, 2010 12:50 am

Why did I make this? I am unsure; I just felt like it. I have not beheld any DBZ midis from the dub score, so I decided to make Dr. Gero's Theme. I did the best I could with the beat, but GM MIDI patches are limiting.

This is an awesome thing to have; thanks! ^^

I made a midi of one of "Hercule"'s themes a while back (the heavy rock one), though I based it on the sample from Faulconer's website and extended it a bit, so it probably misses quite a lot from the full track. You want I should post it?

Eek, I ran off and forgot about this thread.

Anyway, here's a midi based on "Hërçùle in Club". I was running on a combination of memory and the sample from Faulconer's website, so it's short and repeats the same section multiple times. I recorded a version of that midi using a different drumset... but I don't think I have it saved in midi format.
http://rapidshare.com/files/427600146/hrt3.mid

I tried to make several others years before, so the quality is considerably lower. Maybe I'll try to redo some of them so they're actually... ur... good...?
But if anyone's interested in the old and crappy ones:
Hercule's Orchestra: http://rapidshare.com/files/427600734/HHT1.mid - completely wrong and poorly, poorly planned...
"Super Buu": http://rapidshare.com/files/427600948/mbr.mid - I've sense learned how to play this one properly, but ... this illustrates how incredibly wrong I was in 2002-2003. :P
King Cold: http://rapidshare.com/files/427601156/kingcold.mid - I made this one in like 2006, but it's still not completely accurate. It was more for game usage, so matching the actual song wasn't my exact goal.

Not a Faulconer song, but I thought I'd throw it up with the rest: "Piccolo Daimao" http://rapidshare.com/files/427601533/piccolodaimao.mid (From his first fight with Goku)

"New Earth Music": http://rapidshare.com/files/427601764/dbzpt1.mid - This is one of the first I did. So it's extremely flawed... but somehow I think it holds up better than some of the others.

Eh, if I have time / can manage it, I might try making some better quality midis. "New Earth Music" and "Heroic Trunks" seem doable. I tried to make a midi of Pikkahn's Theme, but that one proved rather difficult for me (combination of the chords and all of the rapid moving that the synth does... I don't know that I could manage that one without tips from Scott Morgan...).

I'm having a small amount of trouble with doing this the way I would like...
Just moved into a new place, and can't find the AC adapter for my keyboard. Atop that, I'm only there every other weekend.
I'll see what I can do without having to play through it, though; I've got a pretty good idea of a lot of the melodies as it is.

hah that's awesome!

I love the Dr. Gero one! It has this cool laid back vibe that the original didn't. It's good thing. You should really change the ending though lol I always hated those last couple notes.

So, I threw together this:

"Gohan Fights Freeza": http://rapidshare.com/files/428517624/d ... Freeza.mid

Once I've made several, I might put them all on my server and make a page to make accessing them easier.

... Thanks, Scott! :D

Started on both "New Earth Music" and "Heroic Trunks". Expect Heroic Trunks first, solely because it's shorter. ^^. (A lot of the sounds kinda bleed together, though, so it's tough to distinguish them. It's very atmospheric for such a fast-paced, action-oriented song... getting Windows' GM to simulate that will be difficult. XD ).

Cool Job on Gohan Fights Frieza! :)

First guitar chord is an F5 though, then it lands on Bb5 (so F5 Db5 Eb5 Bb5 F5 Db5 Eb5 repeat)

Interesting. I was always of the opinion that the dissonance created by the last few notes of the track added to the atmosphere.

I have to agree with Scott though, those last couple of notes always seemed a bit pointless.

Edit: Have you done anymore midi's?
