Oh gosh, sorry about my earlier post, guys. My screenshots are horrible. Didn't notice until today. I need to change my settings.
I guess I'll just leave the screenshotting to you guys.

I have yet to pull the trigger and buy the Dragonboxes . Unfortunately, I'm a fan of the Bruce Faulconer score and have been hesitant to buy these. The Toonami days is what I grew up with and I have trouble letting go. It truly is a curse.

If you already have the season sets the easiest thing you could do is just use the faulconer audio and use the dbox video and make your own DVDs. Just a suggestion.Deimos wrote:I have yet to pull the trigger and buy the Dragonboxes . Unfortunately, I'm a fan of the Bruce Faulconer score and have been hesitant to buy these. It must be. Most guys I know in person who grew up watching it on Toonami don't remember the score well enough to care and just play the sets on their default dub + JPN score setting without blinking.Deimos wrote:I have yet to pull the trigger and buy the Dragonboxes . Being a hardcore fan sucks because we're so particular!

I don't have the DBZ season sets but I thought about doing that. It wouldn't be hard to sync up the audio with the video. It would just be very time consuming. If I find the time, I might go ahead and start that little project.Daimo-Rukiri wrote:If you already have the season sets the easiest thing you could do is just use the faulconer audio and use the dbox video and make your own DVDs. It's been two months since I got this and I really want to watch it but school is such a bitch I can't find the time. Anyone know a good idea to set a time to watch it?

I watch it when I work out. Maybe doing chores while by a TV?

Re: Dragon Box Z Vol. 4 Discussion
I got through Dboxes 1-3 pretty fast since I was struggling to find work for the time they were out. It took me 2 months to finish Dbox 4 watching it on and off after I found stable work.
It's not going anywhere, so don't worry.

Re: Dragon Box Z Vol. 4 Discussion
Finally finished my Box 4 this evening - it's taken me a lot longer to get through this one than the others as I only seem to remember I have it very late in the evenings! Also, either my memory's been playing up or I missed more Cell episodes than I thought back in the day, as there was a lot of stuff between Cell turning up and the announcing of the Cell Games that I simply didn't remember at all.
Also, I'd honestly forgotten how much of a horror vibe they seemed to be going for with Cell's first form - the draining of people's bodies to husks and then nothingness, just leaving their clothes laid out in a cruel parody of a human form. If they'd have played with these kinds of idea more, Cell could have become something truely horrifying - though perhaps continuing too far in that sort of direction would've been too much for a shonen action series.
Overall, it's been an enjoyable experience, though both the art and pacing have been suffering a bit at this point in the series. Still, watching between 4 and 7 episodes in a row gets enough story out of the way to keep it moving nicely even at its' most padded, and to be honest on reflection it's probably nowhere near as padded as Goku vs. Freeza was! Anyway, very much looking forward to Box 5 with the climax of the arc - and the debut of We Gotta Power for the last few episodes of the set! = D
Really hoping that if the Dragon Box Z sets sell well that they'll consider purchasing the Dragon Ball footage for similar sets - I'd especially love to see the Demon King Piccolo/23rd Budokai arcs, since they're probably my favourite part of the original series. Ideally, I'd envision it as three sets at a slightly jacked-up price to account for the higher number of episodes per set - that way you could split it evenly for 51 episodes per set, though I don't know how you'd split the episodes-per-disc ratio. Either way, though, I'm incredibly glad we're getting such high-quality sets for Dragon Ball Z, even if neither of the other series gets a similar release. = ) But, a man can dream, right?
