Death to Creative Online Enterprises!

Post by kenisu3000 » Wed Jul 27, 2005 8:56 pm

Okay, I've HAD it with the DBZ Specialty Store! I already knew as soon as I made my purchase of the first four "Best of DBZ" Faulconer CDs, that this would be the last time I bought from them, but now I'm just pissed. Over FOUR MONTHS AGO I placed an order for said CDs, and after about two months during which time a few phone calls occured between me and the store, we determined that my package had gotten lost in the mail. So they sent me another package at no extra cost (or so I THOUGHT) and I finally got it... and it was missing volume 1. Okay, so I was kinda expecting that since it had been out-of-stock when I first placed the order, but now it's just been taking way too long for vol. 1 to arrive back in stock, and on top of that, I called them and it seems to me that they have no intention of refunding my money or sending me the
CD once they get it. I got the feeling they considered the order to be long done, and they used the argument that they had to ship out a second package. Filthy beestards. Is that my fault that the first package got lost in the mail??
So, should I call them again and finally open up a can of whoop-@$$ on them, or what?
BGM forever! If only more people paid attention to it... well, I intend to change that.

Is this specialty store you speak of the official FUNimation store or what? I'm unfamiliar with what you refer to if it's otherwise.
Battle High 2, starring Kyle Hebert as well as myself, has been released on Xbox 360, OUYA, PC, Linux, Mac, and Xbox One!

I had a bad experiance with them too. Over a year agoI ordered the Namek Saga VHS box set from them. I knew it was out of print but they said it was in stock. So I ordered it and after about three weeks my order status still said the order was processing so I e-mailed them a few times until I finally got a response. They told me since it was out of print that they were out and that the "in stock" was a typo. They said they would give me store-credit, but no actual refund. They also said that they had the all nine individual tapes in stock. I responded and asked if I could get those tapes for the box set price since the box set was about $20 cheaper. Their response was no. Angry, I just forgot about the whole ordeal for a few days until I got a phone call from them telling me that they found one more of the box set in their warehouse and asking me if I wanted it, of course I told them yes. The woman who called me had some accent and spoke little english so it took me about 10 minutes to actually figure out what she was telling me. So about two weeks later I finally got my tapes. I also made the decision to never do business with them ever again.

I think what Kenisu is talking about is the Falconer website, S.

I am not surprised that the FUNimation/Zstore would give problems. I myself have never had any problems, on the couple of times I've ordered from them, but it's not surprising none the less.

No, the Dragon Ball Z Specialty Store is a branch of asianmall.com. It's actually been around for quite a long time, I remember using their store to keep track of new VHS releases. Unfortunately, as kenisu3000 said, they're very unreliable.

Ah, well thanks for enlightening me, DBW. I've never even heard of Asianmall.com, which is probably fortunate for me; as I don't really like to take my chances on these sort of things.
I am sorry for your pain though, Kenisu.

Yeah, I was talking about the Asianmall branch. The website is www.japanimation.com/dbz but I wouldn't suggest buying anything from it if you ever do visit it.
This is all funny though, they were reliable beforehand (I got some volumes of the manga from them until I finally decided to get them secondhand on eBay). My biggest beef is the fact that they don't respond to *A*N*Y* emails I send. That's why I do a lot of my purchasing online, because I have this complex about getting on the phone (it's some weird phobia that only I seem to have - I *hate* calling on the phone!). And yet, I only get any shadow of a response from them if I call. And having to deal with whoever answers -sometimes it's a woman, sometimes it's a guy, but they both have really thick Asian accents- oh, don't get me started. They have the nerve to put up an argument, and I *don't* have the nerve to fight back. I'm sick of all these people crapping all over me.

But, in the end, it IS really only $17 or so dollars I lost...

I bought a few Dragon Ball items there last year (a tankoubon and a few Kanzenbans). It took a while for them to come. Hell, they didn't even call to confirm the order until about a month, and even then it was to say that they didn't have a certain product I ordered. So you can say that they're not necessarily up to par when it comes to customer satisfaction.
I was voted "most unique" and "most likely to become the next existential thinker" in high school.

Actually, I've ordered quite a few number of items from the Funimation Z Store and I've never had a problem. If they say something is instock than it usually is, and I always received my order only two days after placing it. That's fast!

Yeah the only time I ever had trouble with Funimations own store was when they had cashed a money order I sent but didn't ship the package, after I confirmed it was cashed to them though they shipped it out the same day.

The Zstore has awful prices generally, but it is reliable in my many experiences with it.
