"Raging Blast 2" Gigantic On-Going Gaming Discussion

This game had pretty much zero marketing since I have yet to see any Internet or TV adds for the game at the moment. I remember seeing a good amount of TV adds for the first game on Adult Swim, along with a few adds on sites like Gamefaqs, IGN, Gamefly, and Gamespot.

I doubt this game is going to sell that well.

I agree. The game is mainly for hardcore fans. Plus, it has to compete with Call of Duty and other newly released games. It's probably doing alright in Japan, though.

Regardless of how well this game does, Spike will put out Raging Blast 3. It seems obvious to me that they decide to work on sequels before seeing how the previous game did. Because if they did wait to find out the success of the game, they wouldn't have enough time to make a sequel in time to be released the next year.

Seriously, I bet they reused the dialogue from the tenkaichi games and applied it in the wrong situation. It makes much more sense, when it's #18 vs. Zangya. Zangya: "Your man is kind of cute". #18: "Skank!!"

I notice that Ginyu's ultimate is still the same. It would be better if they make his body switch attack similar to Buu's absorbtions from Budokai 2-3.

Did I ever mention how much I hate Raging Soul? I hate it a lot. I can't tell you how many times I tried to teleport dodge and instead...."TAKE A CHANCE".

Basically like Coola's "Death Flash" attack.

My Faves are Dabra, Tullece, Cooler, Cyborg Freeza, Bojack, Vegeta (scouter), Piccolo and Videl.

...and sometimes Tarble.

I really like using Freeza. 4 transformations, cool voice, unique transformation animations, great attacks. He's one buffet of a character. Plus he's...well my favorite anyway.

The DLC is just "Enhanced Characters", typically with a few items that you are unable to obtain yourself in the game. These are the same as the "Red Potara" characters from the Tenkaichi/Sparking series, and as our DLC from RB. The only difference is certain characters have an extra costume that features a changed pallet. Yamcha has a lighter orange for his dogi, Vegeta has the dark blue jumpsuit with black and green armor, etc. These characters were available as part of the collectors edition of the game in the UK and apparently Australia, but the US did get a few of these as bonuses; Goku and Kuririn went to Gamestop for preordering, I got Yamcha and Vegeta from Walmart, I suppose Target and the like may have gotten something too.

I should also note that apparently all the "DLC" characters can be obtained in game as well, as you gain enhanced versions of characters by beating the Battles Zones with them...or at least some of them. In addition to the Yamcha and Vegeta I downloaded from PSN, I have gained Mecha Freeza, Mecha Coola, Freeza, Coola, Kid Buu, Cell, SS3 Vegeta, SS3 Broli, etc. None of these extra characters have pallet swaps like my PSN set, but they all seem to be the same as of right now.

I may also need to not that some character I have tried to beat the Battle Zones with have not resulted in an Enhanced Character, like Goku (who was one of the ones with an alternate costume) and Vegeta (who I already had unlocked with my PSN code). So all in all, I have no idea what is really going on. xD

Yea I was afraid of that. Though now that I know that these are not costumes but enhanced characters that came with the pre-order in Europe.(the set I mean) I don't feel so upset about missing out on it. I was really hoping DLC would be something different this game I mean RB's was OK I mean seeing Trunks with purple hair in SSJ was actually kind of cool, but this game I wanted the DLC to be like costumes;for the character, not as an enhanced character but as a costume you can actually choose from. Stages, or new characters but they basically did the same thing. I can only hope the next game has that kind of DLC and they drop this "not actual DLC but a few nifty enhanced characters"

Are they aware how many people would pay for DLC like that? It could also make it so the people who want GT characters can have them but people who are in Japan can pass on them. I will just cross my fingers for next time(not for GT, quite frankly I don't like it very much but the DLC of characters, stages, and costumes.)

Also, I read there was a green gi Gohan? How do you acquire him?

I haven't played Raging Blast 2 just yet, but speaking as a fan of the Sparking! series I will say that I found the original Raging Blast to be a significant downgrade from METEOR in terms of gameplay mechanics. So if RB2 is anything like the first game, I'll hazard a guess that it hasn't yet reached that level of being "better".

METEOR is a game I still play today. With the exception of a few key elements, I find that I can do just about anything in that game that I see in the series itself, and what's more I can do it at a lightning-fast pace that's jam-packed with HUGE special effects and general DBZ craziness. You can do a lot of the same things in Raging Blast, but between the tame-looking attacks and the switch in controls it doesn't feel like quite the same thing . . . at least, not to this Lemmy.

Still, this comes from someone who (again) has not played RB2 just yet. Here's hoping that there's at least some differences between the two games other than the Raging Soul system.

Yea, I have to disagree. After seeing RB2 when I try to play my BT3 it just seems slow and since I am a graphics whore, ugly.

Yea whoever checked the VA in this game more than likely has been fired. There is a lot of little audio glitches, like when Gohan says to Goku SSJ3 "Alright Mr. Piccolo!" or something like that and the ever infamous Goku fusion dance where he says something to Gohan instead of doing the fusion line. I haven't seen so many audio glitches in a DBZ game since T1 with the Japanese in the English audio.

I visit Anime News Network every day and I haven't seen anything. In fact, I've seen no advertising whatsoever for Raging Blast 2. Raging Blast 1 at least got ads on Cartoon Network.

How do you save them? I want to do that. Surprisingly though I have yet to see a commercial for it on Nicktoons during the new Kai's. Seriously considering how big Kai is the fact I haven't seen a commercial for it seems to not make sense to me.
