Re: Favourite Funi Casting Choices for DBZ
Brice was NOT my favourite by any stretch. He was too lazy to even redub Dale Kelly's screams in season 2/3! He was too monotone and bleh!
Anyways my favourites would be:
Dale Kelly as Ginyu
Sonny Strait as everybody he played
Brad Jackson as Oolong
Chris Rager as Mr Mark Hurcule Satan
Dameon Clark as 1st and perfect forms of Cell
Chris Ayres as Freeza
Kent Williams as Dr Gero
Justin Cook as Raditz and Buu
Mike McFarland as Roshi (epic laugh is epic)
Brian Drummond as Vegeta
Peter Kelamis as Son Goku
Scott McNeil as Jeice, Piccolo ect.
Chris Sabat as Burter, Jeice
Alec Willows as Burter
Dale Kelly was the best actor from the first episodes done after the studio switch.
The Ocean actors listed were part of the Funi dub so I guess it counts right?

Re: Favourite Funi Casting Choices for DBZ
What? I thought for sure he dubbed the screams. I specifically remember a few off the top of my head, though my "season three" Z dub memory's getting a bit fuzzy due to my attempt at purging it from my mind with Kai's dub. Now, Sabat didn't re-dub Vegeta's screams though, but that was a case with the same actor recording over his old lines, so I'm pretty sure FUNimation wouldn't let that happen if it was a newer actor dubbing someone else's lines.Attitudefan wrote:He was too lazy to even redub Dale Kelly's screams in season 2/3!
Even if he didn't dub over the screams, saying that he was lazy for it is a silly statement, since I'm sure FUNimation's higher ups were the ones who decided what to re-dub, not the actors.

Well seeing as on YTV (in Canada) half way through the Cell games they switched over to the Ocean dub most of my Funimation choices will be pre-Cell Games.
Dameon Clarke- Perfect Cell
Sean Schemmel- Goku
Christopher Sabat- Vegeta
Chris Ranger- Mr. Satan

Wow, I could've sworn Yajirobe was voiced by Chris Sabat (especially since the latter voiced Kuwabara on YYH and the voices are really similar.)DB_Fan1991 wrote:They were voiced by:SonEric84 wrote:Yajirobe (the actor escapes me)

I freakin loved Dale Kelly's Captain Ginyu and Narrator. I wonder why he left FUNimation.

Re: Favourite Funi Casting Choices for DBZ
I pretty much enjoy all of the Funi voice cast for the series (Before Kai cameout). I think my personal favorite is Dameon Clark as Perfect Cell since his voice fits well with the character.

Re: Favourite Funi Casting Choices for DBZ
Hmm this is a hard one, all based their latest work.
sean schemmel: Son Goku (I did like Kelamis in the first few episodes he was in, hated him in the android saga)
Colleen Clinkenbeard: Son gohan (She's so adorable as Gohan!)
Any dende, everyone did a great job with this role!
Chris Ranger: Mr.Satan (Probably one of the best casting choices)
Monica Rial: Bulma
Sonny Strait: Kuririn
Kara Edwards: Videl/Goten
Chris Sabat: Piccolo/Vegeta
Chris Ayres: Freeza
Chuck huber: 17

Re: Favourite Funi Casting Choices for DBZ
You can really tell when he is screaming and it ends up only being 24000. I was way to shocked that Dale Kelly's screams were left in tact but he was the best so I love that! Brice stopped recording the fight sounds right after he switches bodies with Goku.Metalwario64 wrote:What? I thought for sure he dubbed the screams. Out of the 2, Dale Kelly had way more character, it was the way he talked. He wasn't all monotone. I compared the Episodes Brice re dubbed and, oh boy! He sounded like he was just reading instead of acting! Brice sounded way better in the first PS2 DBZ game and pretty descent in Raging Blast 1.
Here's a sample: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9WJ0w_7WvvQ that is not Brice, it's Dale Kelly and this is from the Orange bricks.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lzTOHmwX ... re=related this is Dale Kelly. Brice has a deeper voice and his screams are, well, not as intense.

Perfect Form Cell

Also Sabat's Zarbon, I'll be the first person to admit Sabat needs to give up roles but I do love his Zarbon.

a lot of his roles were too awesome. The one he kept, Reacoome, sounds not so good. I would have preferred him to keep Jeice and give up Reacoome.Turtle Marked Stone wrote:Tenkaichi Budokai Announcer

And yes, that is the FUNimation Killa/Killer, in the original he has a voice comparable to East Kaioshin.

Re: Favourite Funi Casting Choices for DBZ
Sabat's Zarbon always sounded really phoney to me. (Not a big fan of the guy.) That's what happens when you're voicing twenty different characters in one show, I suppose. I absolutely loved the guy that played Zarbon in DBKai, he made him sound so suave.Turtle Marked Stone wrote:Also Sabat's Zarbon, I'll be the first person to admit Sabat needs to give up roles but I do love his Zarbon.
