Did Bulma also wear those uh... spandex shorts or whatever in the Nicktoons version? I don't remember the Nicktoons version, but I doubt they'd leave her panties in.

Coola Yagami, the shorts were an edit. The Nicktoons version kept the panties.

I knew it was an edit... lmao I just didn't remember if Nicktoons used the same one.
Re: DragonBall Z Kai TV Network Version (CW4Kids\Toonzai) Edits!
Edits I noticed for this week's episodes:
Pupils and groaning added to the dead Namekians.
Dende trying to wake up Cargo after he is killed is cut, and a shot of the Elder and Dende had Cargo erased from the ground.
That's all I noticed.

Made it look like Dodoria just punched the Elder and they still drew his eyes slightly opened as if he were just stunned or whatever.
I'm surprised they kept Vegeta blasting Dodoria, they even kept the frame of him being torn apart by the blast.

They made it look like Dodoria just punched the Elder too in the Nicktoons version.
CW version just added pupils to his eyes and groaning sounds.
Actually, rewatching it, it looks like his eyes are twitching. CW made it more creepy and less violent at the same time

Yeah, it looked like they were literally having a seizure or something after they died. It was creeping me out seeing their eyes twitching like crazy. They did that for the Elder and also the Namekian who was punched by Dodoria into the cliff (which they completely cut).gmster wrote:They made it look like Dodoria just punched the Elder too in the Nicktoons version.

I thought he only headbutted one of them into the cliff. I don't remember that happening. Of course, it could be because it was cutPuppetDoctor wrote:They did that for the Elder and also the Namekian who was punched by Dodoria into the cliff (which they completely cut).
CW has actually left all of the fights and violence from the Nicktoons version alone, only editing when death is concerned.
Unless it was a direct onscreen face punch, (which CW absolutely hates, just look at Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's and Dragon Soul intro) I don't see why they cut it.

I think the censors have to cut things that are "imitatable" that's why most of the fantasy related deaths like fireballs and such are left almost untouched, while a punch to the face gets cut.gmster wrote:PuppetDoctor wrote:CW has actually left all of the fights and violence from the Nicktoons version alone, only editing when death is concerned.Unless it was a direct onscreen face punch, (which CW absolutely hates, just look at Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's and Dragon Soul intro) I don't see why they cut it.
On that note though, I remember a few hard hits that weren't cut, for example...

It might be because they're flying? Would that be the fantasy element...? I don't know, there are some odd edits sometimes, I haven't figured out their guidlines, they seem all over the place.

CW didn't cut that either. The Y7-FV rating varies from network to network, I guess.

Maybe there is a certain limit to the amount of physical contact you can show, fantasy or not. For example, a PG13 movie can contain no more than one "Fuck" (as long as it isn't referring to baby makin'). Might be a similar situation. Or maybe they have no idea what they're doing and just playing it by ear. Which is much more likely.Tanooki Kuribo wrote:It might be because they're flying? Would that be the fantasy element...? Really? Has it always been like that? I thought that was the rule for PG-13 movies?Innagadadavida wrote:

That's what I meant. I left out the "13" by mistake. Edited the post.

Oh alright, haha. I was thinking there'd be a lot of angry parents if that were the caseInnagadadavida wrote:That's what I meant. I left out the "13" by mistake. Edited the post.

So, apparently, because of "BS&P and ad content" reasons they had to remove Shenron from the opening.
Re: DragonBall Z Kai TV Network Version (CW4Kids\Toonzai) Edits!
...What? Then how will they deal with wishes? 4Kids claims a time cut, but... they only replaced the background so shouldn't it run the same? snapshot taken from Toonzone forum.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
Re: DragonBall Z Kai TV Network Version (CW4Kids\Toonzai) Edits!
They claim it's only temporary.
It doesn't make any sense. They always had left Shenron in the opening before. Once the Namek arc started, they replaced him with a green background.

EDIT: Ah, you beat me to it. I'm not buying the time constraint story either. Load of bullshit. They already cut Vegeta punching Goku in the intro, and numerous cuts in the episode themselves. Either The CW is out of it's mind, or 4kids is really greedy for ad revenue. From what I hear about their financial situation, they really need it. But this is fucking nuts.

I'm confused, why exactly did they do that?

Anyone else think that the Toonzaki dude on the fanpage is overly defensive and rather enjoys making an ass of himself? I mean, I'm used to this when it comes to 4kids, but - from the fans, not someone who's supposed to represent them. Kinda unprofessional, don't you think?
