Yay! We have boxart! I think it's one of the best ones I've seen for a DB game in a while.
Battle High 2, starring Kyle Hebert as well as myself, has been released on Xbox 360, OUYA, PC, Linux, Mac, and Xbox One!

The CG scenes at the bottom of http://img322.imageshack.us/img322/7083 ... 0qu4cj.jpg
look interesting. It would be a welcome change to seeing the more anime-style cutscenes I'm used to in the games. I know there have been other DBZ games that don't use anime for cutscenes, but I haven't actually played those ones. :P

The battle damage in http://www.image-dream.com/membre/up/go ... chi-15.jpg is looking great too.

I can't wait for this. Hope the actually GAMEPLAY delivers.

Bah. With the end of hand drawn animation in American theaters (thanks to Disney blaming its own low ticket sales on the medium and not their own incompetence) and the wave of ungodly, horrific-looking, and vein "anime-inspired" American TV animations, and the rise of ever blander 3D theatrical animations that get less and less creative/intellegent as Pixar, Disney, and Dreamworks pander more and more to adults and teenagers, I'll take any quality 2D animation I can get.

And Dragonball just looks wierd in semi-realistic three demensions. Why not just use the damn graphics engine for an intro and not waste the time and money on some obnoxious CG video?

No, unlike the Budokai's this has in game battle damage. You beat someone up and by the time the fight's over, they look like you beat them up. ^^

I don't particularly care for CG opening to this game. At least, not what I've managed to see of it. It just looks... bad. Very bad. I'm with you, they should have used the in game system for the opening like they did for all the cutscenes. I'm just glad the cutscenes are done that way and not the same CG as the opening.

Since WE GOTTA POWER has been confirmed as the opening (correct me if I'm wrong), they may use the in-game graphics for the opening (like CHA-LA-HEAD-CHA-LA in the first Budokai).

WE GOTTA POWER has been confirmed as the intro theme, and that CG sequence is confirmed as the opening scene. Sad but true. I don't know, some parts look ok. But... gah. Other scenes just look soooooooooo bad. It's almost laughable.

CG Opening? We Gotta Power theme? Where are you all getting this info and where can I see screenshots of the opening (at least I think that's how you all know how it is done) or watch the opening if thats possible, I doubt it though.

Same here, and if Sparking! is using "WE GOTTA POWER" for the opening, the Budokai Tenkaichi version will most likley be removing it, anyone remember a certain game opening on Budokai 1? "HEAD CHA-LA" was replaced by "Rock the Dragon", watch the NA version of Sparking! probably get that or worse..."Step into the Grand Tour"

Europe always gets the JAP. opening. I love the openings for the Budokai's. B1 has the best animation and B2 has the best theme. B3 is sorta the "in-between". What it lacks in opening it gains in gameplay though :D.

I wonder... in any markets outside of North America and Japan, will the game be called Sparking!, or Budokai Tenkaichi.

I'm confused, the opening is supposedly a CG'd version of We Gotta Power, but are the cut-scenes in CG or 2-D animation? And if they are animated is it just going to be clips from the show or newly-drawn versions?

The CG'd opening sounds interesting, but I'd rather see some more brand-new 2-D stuff. I loved Budoukai 2 and 3's animated openings.
On hiatus.

The opening was, IIRC, up on Gamespot for a bit. But then someone realized it wasn't supposed to be there and they took it down. However this image has screen caps at the bottom of it from the intro.

EDIT

Actually, I think the intro itself is original and just using WE GOTTA POWER as the song. Could be wrong as I've never seen that actuall opening before. As for the cutscenes, they're all in game using the game sprites. No new 2D animation this time around.

I thought the game was entirely 3D. Entirely 3D games don't use sprites.
2D games (Ex. Buu's Fury) use sprites.

I use game sprite for any model in a game. 2D or 3D. Doesn't matter. "Sprite" applies to a character or object, period. There's no distinction between 2 and 3 dimensional.

Although, most of the time, the word sprite is only used on 2D sprites.

But about the openings; if you ask me Budokai 2´s opening knocked the crap out of Budokai´s opening, and Budokai 3´s opening did the same to Budokai 2´s opening, so I´ll assume Budokai Tenka´ichi´s opening will, again, knock the crap out of Budokai 3´s opening... and from now on I´m reffering to Budokai as a friggin B... I still can´t wait untill a friggin B Tenka´ichi comes out...

Except Sparking! is coming from a different developer.

And if you ask me, the animators of the Dragonball Z 3 opening lost touch with the DBZ style. I mean, characters were 8 heads tall, for crackin' ice! 8 HEADS. At least the DBZ 2 opening was a little closer to the style of the anime.

Hopefully, they'll finally get Vegeta's f***ing hair color right.

Yeah, why DO I keep seeing Vegeta's hair with a reddish-brown lighting to it in the more recent games? Or is that not what you meant? :P

Has anyone else noticed that Budokai 1 had Cha-La... as the opening (being the first in the Budokai series) and Tenkaichi will have We Gotta Power (probably being the last in the Budokai series). It's kind of cool how Bandai has tried to make it look like the Budokai series has come full circle.
