Dragon Box The Movies Redub?
I don't remember where i read this but I'm hearing that if Funi does release a Dragon Box The Movies, there will be a new dub with Funi's new cast. Colleen Clinkenbeard for example, does anyone have any news or thoughts on this? Perhaps whether or not you have heard the same thing?

If there is any such awesome news, we haven't heard it yet.

Re: Dragon Box The Movies Redub?
I do love how they are getting closer to the original script, even though they pronounce some things wrong still, at least they're trying. The only problem for me is i personally do not like the new voices when watching the English dub, guess i got too used to the old actors.

Re: Dragon Box The Movies Redub?
It'd be nice, but I can't bring myself to truly pull for it when a majority of the movies aren't great to begin with.
Realistically, I doubt it. They apparently aren't fixing the original series movie dubs #2-4, so that tells me they aren't going to bother.

Well it could be also that the DB movies and series overall are a much better dub than DBZ. DBZ needed a re-dub much more than the original series. This can be applied to the movies too, but not all them need it. Even though all of this probably won't happen because of money issues.B wrote:Realistically, I doubt it. But I think we should wait for an announcement for the actual DBox Movies by FUNi before we speculate about the dubs.

Re: Dragon Box The Movies Redub?
With the Dragon Boxes being JP ver.-centric releases, I really don't see FUNi going the extra mile to redub the movies to any degree. After all, they didn't bother to redub the series any (beyond the tweaks made for the orange bricks, anyway), so why would they redub the movies, and for a release in which the dub isn't the main focus?

I agree completely with what you are saying and I hope Funi takes that route. It is a little sad in my opinion that even though the Dboxes are JP centric, the English audio is of a higher quality than the JP mono.jpdbzrulz4sure wrote:With the Dragon Boxes being JP ver.-centric releases, I really don't see FUNi going the extra mile to redub the movies to any degree. I always found it kind of weird that the dub track has a huge 5.1 track while the mono track is a substantially lower bit rate than the Japanese Dragonboxes.

I'm sorry but I'd prefer Colleen Clinkenbeard stay far away from my Dragon Ball dub. Its been already announced I believe that she will be voicing kid Goku in Dragon Ball movie 1.

She plays Princess Snake, so she was on the first Dragon Box release. Further more, she's already set for the Movies Dragon Box, because she plays Zangya, in all her one-lined glory.

I know I know, minor characters, and you guys are worried about her playing a Son or two. I'm just being an ass.
Actually, if they DO release a Movies Dragon Box that covers more than Z, well there's only one uncut dub of Curse of the Blood Rubies. So... again, too late.

In a ditch somewhere
Re: Dragon Box The Movies Redub?
It doesn't really matter, because the Japanese Dragon Box audio is pretty crappy to begin with. There's no audible difference between it and the Japanese track on the US Dbox. On the other hand, FUNimation of course has the original masters of their own track in perfect quality, so why not make the best of it?CODii wrote:I always found it kind of weird that the dub track has a huge 5.1 track while the mono track is a substantially lower bit rate than the Japanese Dragonboxes.
