Least favorite parts of the story
For me, I can't stand pretty much everything from Cell absorbing 18 to when he gets killed. I skip all of that in rewatching/reading. I'm also not a fan of most of the 23rd Budokai.

Re: Least favorite parts of the story
Almost any time in the Z storyline that the show tries to be funny. Maybe I just don't get the humor, but I've said before that it boggles my mind that the same show featuring the epic Goku v. Freeza confrontation on an exploding Namek brought us every stupid scene involving Goten and Trunks a little while later.

The Red Ribbon arc put me to sleep in both the anime and manga. Most of SSJ Goku vs. Freeza was also a snorefest.

Pretty obvious, Garlic Junior filler.

This type of thread has been done to death, in a mutual context to say the least, oh well.
Edit: I'm probably the only one here that can watch all 444 episodes without a complaint. :\

I'd watch that any day over the dragged out anime version of the Goku vs. Freeza battle.

The 23rd Tournament is kind of slow, but the Saiyan stuff takes the cake for me.

I'd have to say my least favorite part of the series would be from the beginning of the Cell Games (The 9 episodes of filler :/) up until Cell's defeat. I really wanted to like this part of the series but it just wasn't that enjoyable to me...

You mean the "days of rest" episodes? I actually think some of the best episodes in the series are the ones without so much action and focus more on the character development.

Goten and Trunks during the buu saga. Those two really annoyed me more than anything else during the entire series. Even the Goku vs. Freeza battle wasn't as painful as watching Goten and Trunks dick around.
I enjoyed those episodes too. They were like the highlight of the cell saga.SonEric84 wrote:Lum-Chan~ wrote:I'd have to say my least favorite part of the series would be from the beginning of the Cell Games (The 9 episodes of filler :/) up until Cell's defeat. Funny. I always really enjoyed those bits, even though most of them were filler. ^_^;xzero wrote:Almost any time in the Z storyline that the show tries to be funny. I agree actually (I loved the saiyan saga filler because it added so much to Gohan and Piccolo's character) but I really just wanted them to finish off Cell so I could move on to the next arc.SonEric84 wrote:Lum-Chan~ wrote:I'd have to say my least favorite part of the series would be from the beginning of the Cell Games (The 9 episodes of filler :/) up until Cell's defeat. Re: Least favorite parts of the story
People are really saying the Cell Games? That's the best part of the whole story!
My least favorite parts are some of time-wasting portions of the Red Ribbon arc where they're just stretching things out too much (manga or anime), all that time wasted fighting Freeza's different forms before his final one, and a good portion of the Buu arc where little to nothing occurs. Luckily that last thing has Mr. Satan's making friends with Buu to relieve the boredom.

Re: Least favorite parts of the story
- The Red Ribbon Army saga. Gets boring fast and lasts way too long. Fortunately Dragonball really improves with the following sagas.
-Garlic Jr. Saga. Lack of Vegeta and Goku really hurt. Kid Gohan isn't charismatic enough to carry the show.
-The ten-year timeskip. Wish that never happened. The filler party episode or the 'Yo Son Goku And His Friends Return'-special would've been a better ending.

The filler sequence with Dabura in heaven.

Agreed! I also like how in the anime they had Kuririn spending time with Goku and Gohan. It seemed much more in-character to me.
Yeah, it truly helps you to understand better why Piccolo would risk his life for the kid. All of the Saiyan filler was very enjoyable to me. (Except maybe Yajirobe selling out to the media/police.) I can understand that though, the Cell arc as a whole was pretty long...but I think I enjoy it more than Buu.Lum-Chan~ wrote:I agree actually (I loved the saiyan saga filler because it added so much to Gohan and Piccolo's character) but I really just wanted them to finish off Cell so I could move on to the next arc.I guess when I watch through the series again I may be able to get a better liking of those episodes but I dunno...

Re: Least favorite parts of the story
I'm not crazy about the early Artifical Humans portions and a little into the Cell arc. Everything before the Cell Game is kinda "blah" for me, except the parts with #16, I liked him a lot. I don't really dislike it, but it is definatly my least favorite part of the series.

Certain moments of filler aside, or arcs of filler aside, I've never personally been that attached to anything from the Magical Being Boo era.

Re: Least favorite parts of the story
All that damn filler, most of it is just so boring I just want to turn off the TV and do something else.
Re: Least favorite parts of the story
I think you just implicitly voiced a complaint. You apparently can't watch episodes 445-508 without a complaint, which means your complaint is DBGT. And no, the "GT doesn't count because it's non-canon" argument doesn't work here because the thread title is "Least favorite parts of the story," and without a qualifier, "story" is a broad term encompassing GTPerfect wrote:Edit: I'm probably the only one here that can watch all 444 episodes without a complaint. :\
