Having watched DB before hearing it, it very quickly reminded me of music from the anime, particularly somewhere around the Red Ribbon arc.
(Specifically, see the intro and about 1:30 in).

Is there a particular song in the DB soundtrack that this is at all similar to? I know that Toriyama based a lot of designs from early DB on Chinese, and a lot of the Kikuchi score has very apparent Chinese influences.

If there is a song (or two) in DB with a noticeably similar sound, I'd appreciate it if someone could point me to what episode(s) it's played in.

It honestly reminds me more of Doraemon's BGM than Dragon Ball's. Though, Doraemon's BGM was also composed by Shunsuke Kikuchi...
