DragonBall Z: Movie 12 - Animation Flaws and Oddities!
Re: DragonBall Z: Movie 12 - Animation Flaws and Oddities!
This is really cool. I especially like the "hidden frame" behind Goku when he's transforming...it's weird. I wonder if it was done on purpose or something. Then again, I don't know much about how animated films are made so perhaps there is an accidental explanation which may have caused it. Great finds though Tanooki.

Oh wow, that's pretty cool, I guess it's on other versions too. Funny no one noticed it untill now...Codarik wrote:That strange mistake is in FUNimation's remastered version too. Here is the screenshot of it. (Sorry if the pic is too big lol)

I found a cel error. Check out that box on the right (Enma's left elbow). It's supposed to be behind the elbow and not on it.
EDIT: Any plans to do for the rest of the movies?

There's several parts throughout the Android Saga where the artists assumed Yamcha was wearing an undershirt like Goku, but when it got to the coloring stage, it seems they tried covering it up by just coloring the shirt orange to match his gi. It makes Yamcha look like he's wearing an orange undershirt, which is kinda neat.
The 2 instances that I can think of off the top of my head are when Yamcha is initially training in Bulma's backyard and later when he's driving the plane. I think there's a few others, but those 2 stick out for some reason.

My favourite art style (and animation) outside Toriyama who worked on Dragon Ball: Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru, Masaki Satō, Minoru Maeda, Takeo Ide, Hisashi Eguchi, Katsumi Aoshima, Tomekichi Takeuchi, Masahiro Shimanuki, Kazuya Hisada

When Goku and Pikkon are staring at each other, right before they start fighting, before the opening sequence, Goku's blue shirt (the right shoulder) is colored orange:

Toriyama occasionally did that for Yamcha and Kuririn in the manga too. He sometimes appeared to forget that Yamcha didn't wear an undershirt like Goku and gave him one. And there were times (or maybe just one time) where Kuririn didn't have an undershirt, like back in the Freeza arc. And we all know about Yamcha's symbol on his gi switching from Kaio to Kame.Travis Touchdown wrote:There's several parts throughout the Android Saga where the artists assumed Yamcha was wearing an undershirt like Goku, but when it got to the coloring stage, it seems they tried covering it up by just coloring the shirt orange to match his gi. Oh, cool find, omegalucas! If you don't mind, I wanna take a screen shot myself so it's clearer and put it on page 1. Thanks!

So what's the issue? Well Dodoria had three fingers in the manga, but five in the anime. However, these shots show him with different finger counts. On the left, he has a total of 9 fingers, whereas the one on the right is debatable. On his left hand, you would think it looks like he has three, but the fourth is stretched rather awkwardly. At least I think that's his fourth finger, anyway. Yet on the right hand, his fingers look spaced out just fine.
I'm definitely counting five fingers on Dodoria's left hand in the left image.

I always thought that was just a stylistic thing, like how the eyebrows would turn gold before the hair back in the early Android arc.Tanooki Kuribo wrote:A shot of Gohan turning Super Saiyan has a small error, Gohan's eye brows are still black...

I'm not sure about the eyebrows, but Goku's eyes turned green even before his hair and aura changes, back when Goku confront #19 and #20.Rocketman wrote:I always thought that was just a stylistic thing, like how the eyebrows would turn gold before the hair back in the early Android arc.Tanooki Kuribo wrote:A shot of Gohan turning Super Saiyan has a small error, Gohan's eye brows are still black...
