Well I wonder if Mangastream redrew any of the art...which comes out more awkward in color if so.

But anyway, I thought it was very cute! I really loved it, and I can't wait to see upcoming chapters.
I think I'll be buying assorted Dragon Ball things for the rest of my life.

I know that's harsh, but it needs to be -- at least read a couple posts in the thread before you post in it.

Meh. I mean, the Manga had nice, cutesy-looking art, but as far as new content goes, it falls short. And that's something I really want as a Dragon Ball fan.

I don't really see the creativity...I mean come on. It's Dragon Ball, the universe is huge and chalk full of things to expand on...
Seriously...Well maybe this alternative universe will turn into something great, I doubt it though. It seems a little too...Contained? I'd like to see her try a Buu and Mr. Satan manga. -.-

I'd just like to see her not play it so safe. It reminds me of the '09 Star Trek film or Superman Returns where it's just so big of a creative compromise that nothing good comes out of it. She should either have stayed completely within the realm of the established canon and done a side-story of some of that training time we didn't see, or she should have gone completely wild with the characters and world. As it is, it seems ALMOST exactly like Dragon Ball with a few minor details arbitrarily changed and then presented on a beige platter of bland.

Keep in mind, it is just a fun little side-story for the kids, probably meant to promote DBKai, or the games.

By the way, why are people acting like more chapters have been confirmed? Did I miss something?

It really brought back a lot of memories. New Dragon Ball after so many years! I'm looking forward to more. I totally creamed myself reading this.

One of my favourite moments was when the big bird thought Kurririn was an egg. That made me laugh so hard.

I'm really happy with what I read not just because it's new Dragon Ball material, but because this harks back to what I consider one of the most enjoyable parts of the original Dragon Ball storyline. Goku and Kuririn's training with Muten Roshi is one of those really fun, heartwarming come-of-age stories from the early days that really shined amongst all the stale formulaic enemy encounters that would pop up later in the series.

I thought it was interesting that they decided to "retcon" the earlier explanation of Goku's training with Kame-sennin, but it makes for a good retelling. Really eager to see later chapters. :D

Maybe because of the ending of chapter one?

Yes, there will be lots of chapters.

There will be a lot of side-stories from Shonen Jump titles made from children. I.e. Dragonball, One Piece, Naruto...

I haven't actually read the chapter, so I didn't know about that. But, as EnmaDaiou pointed out, it says "The End" at the end, not "To be continued next issue."

Gotcha. Nobody had mentioned any of that earlier in the topic, so I assumed that people were just getting ahead of themselves.

Yeah, I could've done that, but I opted not to. Deal with it.

The first chapter is not really that funny. The first chapter of the new "Rock Lee's Springtime of Youth" is more funnier, seriously, go check it out.

Just finished it and I thought it was okay. The art was good and cute, but the humor was just "meh" for me. Definitely great for younger kids, but not for me. Well, so far anyway...

I'll wait to see how the next chapters are before I form an opinion on this.

That's not exactly the attitude one would consider using against someone who's in charge.

That Rock Lee special was actually really funny, haha. I liked it better than the DB one, to be honest.

This will probably be the only time Naruto beats out anything DB for me, too.

^Lol your avvie.

I think Rock Lee's was funny, but their comedy could have EASILY been defeated by Dragonball's had they made a story like Goku's driving lessons. A bit of a waste....

Dragonball has way more potential than all the other jumpers.
