I would be terribly dissapointed if Andy Chandler didn't return to voice Cooler in a re-dub of Cooler's Revenge. Chandler is an absolutely fantastic actor and he only has a few roles within the franchise, I'd hate for his best one to be eliminated.

Hell ya, that would be a match made in heaven, perfect casting.

Greg would be perfect for the role! Tough I've had really no problems with any English VA of Pilaf's role..

Isn't that Chandler's only role in Funi's DBZ english dub?

^ My mistake :wink:

I also hope Greg Ayres gets to do more in DBZ, while it would be cool to have reallife brothers play Freeza & Coola, I also think Greg Ayres would-be a great

Back on topic;

Anyone have a favorite Ayres Freeza moment yet? I particularly like his angry Freeza in Episode 36 and All of his 2nd Form Freeza performance so far.
I loved the moment when Nail is asking Freeza if they can take their fight away from guru, and Freeza awnseres: ",But i don`t see the harm. Lead and i shall follow."

Ooh, Greg as Majin-Boo might be interesting. I really dislike the voice they used for him in DBZ. With an accurate script, I don't think the voice would make as much sense. But I'd love to have brothers play brothers; that would be pretty cool. :D

How was the Plan to Eradicate the Saiyans movie in Japan when Nakao had to voice Freeza and Coola at the same time?

Coola is played a little deeper, so they don't sound exactly the same.

Yeah, Nakao's performance of Coola in DBZ Movies 5 and 6 is... well, I wouldn't say significantly deeper than Freeza's voice, but enough so that you can tell the difference. He also speaks more forcefully (you can really hear him pushing those words out, as opposed to Freeza kinda tip-toeing around with his vocabulary).

Some of the most recent video games don't carry over this exact performance from the past, so I'll concede that unless you're paying attention to the actual dialog, you might second-guess yourself as to whether it's Freeza or Coola. Crazy enthusiasts like me can usually still tell, but I could understand the other side :).

Also their laughs are different. Coola's laugh sounds more megalomaniacal, while Frieza's is like a male version of the haughty Japanese woman laugh.

And you guys mentioning Greg Ayres know he has played Goku before right?

He's referring to the Son Goku from Saiyuki, I believe.

Freeza just isn't, nor will it ever be, one of those roles. Chris just has so much range and emotion, he just perfectly captures the character in a way I haven't seen since Freeza's seiyuu.
I think Linda Young could have played a much better Freeza if she had done what Sabat did with his Piccolo voice. If it was bit less raspy she could have pulled off that creepy feminine polite voice Ayres does so well while keeping just a bit of raspienes to sound more like a male and keep that evil sound to it.

I don't think she's capable of sounding male. :/
