I mean, I love Kageyama, but the Z anime had its share of cheesy songs.
That's by far as cheesy (as in trying too hard to match the scene) as the original insert songs get (outside of the intentionally cheesy and not at all melodramatic Dragon Ball songs), and even then it seems like it's primarily going for the '80s synth version of bad-ass again.

If Kai had an insert song playing over that same thing, it would be so. ridiculously. melancholy. We're talking violins, choir, soft remorseful voices, or any combination thereof. Because it's sad that his future is wrecked, get it?

Definitely the FUNi dub of Kai, that insert song had me laugh for about an hour.

As funny as I find the Dragon Ball Kai intro to be in the Funimation dub I would have to say I like the original Japanese DBZ version the best. The music just makes the Ginyu Force seem all big, bad and serious and not a giant joke at first. Then when the flowers set in and Frieza's face after. Oh, its all just a priceless scene.

I would've thought the posing would have gave it away before that point myself.

Sorry, I was quoting penguintruth's post so I could copy and paste it for another post, but by force of habit I clicked submit. Also I'm a bit tired so I'm not thinking clearly. I deleted the post in hope that it would bump it back down, but that didn't work. Anyway sorry.

Butta for the Kai English Dub. And for the whole thing, Kai Japanese Dub love the Tokusentai.

The English dub with Nathan Johnson's music. His music fitted the Ginyu Force well for that scene.

Absolutely the Kai dub. Either one, really. It's the only vocal insert song (i.e., no Battle Point) in any iteration of DB that I don't dislike.

The "Ginyu Force Rules!" version is my favorite. Just because of how forced and cheesy the lyric is. The phoning in aspect of just adding a "rules!" really fits the original japanese version and makes it even funnier.

My rankings in order:
