They really aren't, I'd take characters that actually...y'know did something other then random characters that fought once and could be summed up in a chapter recap. As for Babidi how in the world do you figure he has his place in a fighting game? He never fought.Tsukento wrote:Doesn't change the fact that they had their roles in the series. Oh absolutly! Sure they are the goof ball characters but not having them is like a sin against the game and franchise.Tsukento wrote: Mr. Satan is to the Dragon Ball games as Dan is to the Street Fighter series.
Yea, I did the same thing. Actually, I didn't even buy it, I rented it. I had a five day rental and I returned it in 3. It's sad because this is the first game I refused to buy and it's the first game to break my Dragonball Christmas tradition.Innagadadavida wrote:BT3 was just a better game all around. We still pop in BT3 every now and then, but I only played Raging Blast three times before trading it in.

Just a heads up for anyone who might not have the game yet.
GameStop is selling new copies of Raging Blast on the PS3 and 360 for $29.99 each. Pretty much the lowest I've seen it drop since Amazon's Black Friday deal last year. The price drop applies in-store and on their online store.

Amazon's likely trying to keep up with GameStop due to their Game Days sale that's going on. Amazon has a habit of keeping an eye on competition's prices and trying to match them.

Tiencha has never appeared in anything other than Budokai 2. I wouldn't be surprised if Dimps has copyright (or whatever the exact term is) on him.Tsukento wrote:what-if (like Yamhan

30$ is still too much for a game that apparently sounds bogged down with glitches, I'll just wait for the inevitable 19.99 price point walmart will eventually sell the game for.

Re: DragonBall: Raging Blast (PS3/360)
So I popped in the game for the first time in over a month today. I downloaded all of the DLC characters they have, and I fought SSJ3 Broli. These "Ultimate Fighters" are fucking jokes. In the first time playing in over a month I managed to get a perfect on him using SSJ2 Goku.
Awesome.
Awesome.

I dunno. SS3 Brolly first appeared in a Data Cardass game (made by Dimps), then later appeared in Raging Blast (made by Spike).Rocketman wrote:Tiencha has never appeared in anything other than Budokai 2. I think it's a combination of having to focus on characters that actually appear in the series and nobody giving a shit about Yamcha and Tenshinhan that've kept Yamhan out of newer games.Rocketman wrote:Tiencha has never appeared in anything other than Budokai 2. hmm $30? That's not a bad deal I might go pick it up.
Boy, I never thought I'd see the day were I would pick up Raging Blast before Final Fantasy 13.

Well you probably shouldn't pick up FFXIII anyway because it pales in comparison to the great FF games.SparkyPantsMcGee wrote:Boy, I never thought I'd see the day were I would pick up Raging Blast before Final Fantasy 13.Tsukento wrote:Just a heads up for anyone who might not have the game yet.

Mr. Satan I understand. But Dan is awesome. I learned how to use him and he's pretty useful.Tsukento wrote:Now as for characters, after a few play throughs online, I can say hardly anyone uses base characters and pretty much customizes everyone. So the base doesn't matter when people are going to customize them. Which means just because Mr. Satan did virtually nothing, it didn't mean he couldn't be tinkered with. To lose to Mr. Satan would bring shame to a person. Mr. Satan is to the Dragon Ball games as Dan is to the Street Fighter series.
I was thrilled about his omission from Raging Blast, because imagine how frustrating his Galaxy Mode would be? Hell, whenever he's included in these games, Spike can't help themselves but sadistically add pivotal missions that have Mr. Satan as the character you fight with. I can't tell you how strong my desire was to throw my controller through the TV after losing the fight in Sparking! with Kid Buu a couple dozen times. It wouldn't have been so bad had you actually been able to fight, but the objective was to survive and run away from the opponent, which is just absolutely fucking stupid.
Plus, he's much like a Dragon Ball character was in the previous series... awkwardly floating to a slow descend with rocks as ki blasts and annoying rushes.
Plus it was just kind of like an ancient joke that was funny in 2002 but that's it. His inclusion was nothing but a nuisance.
I was Thanos before the MCU existed!

Re: DragonBall: Raging Blast (PS3/360)
Yay for me. I just recently bought Raging Blast for my PS3. I did not expect to be so severely disappointed. :/
My opinion of the game is pretty much identical to that of the first Sparkling/Tenkaichi game [which I never even finished]. It has its ups and downs certainly, but it really gives off an overall feel of a bad Dragon Ball game. The presentation is good though. Crappy intro movie, with awesome music. I love Kageyama's single in this game, almost as much as his Burst Limit one. Other than that, story mode is broken again... which really isn't that important here, but... I just can't understand why after having 3 Sparkling/Tenkaichi games, they decided to start almost from ground zero again and not build upon what they had already established in the previous installments? Oh yeah, money. Smooth move.
Really, the reason why I dislike the game so much is the difficulty. I've only played a couple of fights from the first sagas and the cpu owns me every second or third time on normal. This was never the case with previous games. Also, the action seems... slow. One thing I liked though was the ability to slam my opponents in walls.
The graphics are bad too, especially for a next-gen game. It's really sad. I'm glad I didn't spend much on the game, but I'm also really disappointed that I won't play it as extensively, as I usually do with every new Dragon Ball game I pick up.

How come people still say "Next-Gen" when referring to the PS3 & Xbox 360?

Its because people still view the PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube as current systems?

Re: DragonBall: Raging Blast (PS3/360)
Rory, that is a very valid point.
They are in fact current-gen systems, I'm just used to the term too much, my bad.
I remember the days when I used to call the Gamecube a next-gen system actually.
Sadly, that does not change the fact that Raging Blast sucks overall.

Re: DragonBall: Raging Blast (PS3/360)
So how is the game? We finally got our hands on Xbox with Kinect and I'm planning to buy it, but from what I saw and heard so far, it's again Dragon Ball fighter in the classic marketing style: ''Give me my money and fuck off here'' (Imatran Voima's lyrics from Give me my Money, greatly resembling nowadays marketing). So I'm thinking because there is lot of better games out there. What do you say?
