Problems in the future..er..past...Ginyu etc..
Hi everyone, I'm brand new
At this moment I am watching the first Ginyu Force Saga dvd in English and I have some problems that FUni will run into when it comes to completing the circle from Namek to Ginyu. Here they are:
1. Ginyu's voice---the actor left after the cell saga...new voice is needed
2. Everyone talks awkwardly in episode 54(eng) Ginyu Assault, its their 1st dbz ep. but in the next episode the voices are improved for some reason and sound more like we are used to but not perfect.
3. Music, its gonna be really weird having the improved music in the Uncut Ultimates merge with the Rock the Dragon tunes of Funi's first attempt. I think they should start using that theme or some of them in the Ultimates because they are used in the duratuon of the rest of DBZ and the balance is offset.
Something tells me that Funi will redub the entire Ginyu saga...we'll see

I agree with you with the music being a drastic change from one episode to the other once they stop with the ultimate uncut episodes. I just don't understand why FUNi is going through all the trouble to repair their old episodes, only to have the opening theme, closing theme, BGM and title cards in a completely different format than the rest of the series.
I dont like the red title cards as well as the opening being painfully long just to match up with Cha La on the DVDs. Rock the Dragon is horrible but it is already done and must be used once more. Also, all of the character themes arent used, i liked Vegeta's theme and it hurts to have the series open with generic and bleak themes that have no attachment.

I think Ginyu's voice in the Budokai Games was done by Brice Armtrong (the Narrator of the original Dragon Ball series and Lord Slug's Voice), and since Nappa and Raditz are now voiced by the ones who did their voices in the Budokai games, the same thing will happen to Ginyu. But who did the voice of Burter also left, I think, he used to do also the Ox-King, Korin, Oolong and Bubbles. Korin and Bubbles are now voiced by Christopher Sabat (no surprise
), Oolong is voiced by Brad Jackson and Ox-King by Kyle Hebert.

Ok, sorry about the avatar. I got it from the stickied avatar thread, but I direct linked the image, and I guess Angelfire doesn't like that very much. My avatar was showing up fine for me, so I just assumed it was working properly. Again sorry. All is fixed.VegettoEX wrote:REMINDER TO EVERYONE:

That cow will die of overmilking once the last redub dvd comes out.SaiyamanMS wrote:Cause Funimation want to milk every cent they can out of DBZmasenko wrote:and by the way, why are the Uncut Ultimate DVDs only 3 episodes? Even with 5.1, theres plenty enough room...look at the Dragonball Saga Sets
Here's what's left to milk out of the three cows (besides video games):
DB: Pilaf saga uncut, Movie 1 uncut and Movie 2 DVD
DBZ:Rest of the Redub DVDs, rest of the Saiyaman DVDs, Movie 2/3 redubs and Movie 11-13
DBGT: pronounced dead and buried in the stinkiest ditch they could find.
Yep, Dragonball is nearly dead. CN only needs to air the four DB movies, the rest of the redub episodes (movies? Nah.), DBZ movies 7-13 and the DBGT tv special.

I know I'm late on this, but dub episodes 54-57 (most of episode 67 to the end of 71) don't synch up with the Japanese ones, because they needed to get in extra footage with each episode until the series did synch properly (in the Ocean/Saban seasons, footage was spliced together and episodes' worth of material was lost, resulting in episodes starting and ending in weird spots).Sun_Wukong wrote:I honestly dont see why FUNI would re-dub the Ginyu saga, unless they really wanted to milk DBZ some more.
So... redubbing that part would make the whole series flow together the way it ought to.
