Sorry for the double post (well over an hour), but 4shit is skipping ANOTHER One Piece arc (this time, it's a story crucial arc
), two to be exact: the coby mini-arc and the Little Garden Arc.
Here's what they've done so far to the show:
11+12: Merged (Kuro Arc)
35+36: Merged (Arlong Arc)
39+ First half of 40: Merged (Arlong)
Second half of 40+41 and first half of 42: Merged (Arlong)
Second half of 42, 43, 45, Scene from 48: Merged (Arlong-Lougetown)
44, 46, and 47: Skipped (Arlong, Buggy Side-Story)
48 and a bit of 49: Merged (Lougetown)
49 and a bit of 51: Merged (Lougetown)
50: Skipped (Logetown)
51 and half of 52: Merged (Lougetown)
Other half of 52 and 53: Merged (Lougetown)
54-60: Skipped (Apis)
Bit of 61, little of 62, and most of 64: Merged (Laboon-Whiskey Peak)
63: Skipped (Laboon)
Most of 64, 65, and a third of 66: Merged (Whiskey Peak)
Now it's Guesswork
Rest of 66, sone of 67: Merged (Whiskey Peak)
Rest of 67, mabye some of 78: Merged (Whiskey Peak, Drum)
68-77: Skipped (Coby-Meppo, Little Garden)
That's right, 25 episodes worth of material merged and 21 episodes skipped.
Now they'll get to Chopper 30 episodes before they should
BTW, 4crap has been losing a few million dollars more than they've been making this past year! They're nearly dead!
Edit- For those who were going to say "4kidswatchingthiscrap" is trying to make Chopper into the new Pikachu, well, in japan, CHOPPER IS PIKACHU!!!
(I was very suprised to find this out)

Yep, here's what Viz is doing with Naruto and what "4baddubs" has done with One Piece:Son_Gokou wrote:Yeah, what the fuck is wrong with them?! Damn, Little Garden?! They're ruining the best show I've seen since DB.. Wow, thank God these guys aren't getting Naruto.
Naruto: Original music kept in, VERY minimum editing, uncut boxsets of thirteen episodes for only twenty dollars
One Piece: Horrible edits, crappy music, merged episodes, skipping episodes, slowly killing the minds of this new generation and planning to release three One Piece episodes edited for thirty dollars.
Yep, for the price of a 4shame presents: One Piece edit fest, you could get nineteen and a half episodes of uncut Naruto!
WHATTHEFUCK!?!????

Woh. 3d effect there

Yep, definently getting Naruto Uncut

And yet... and yet... life goes on. Honestly, is it surprising at all that 4Kids would make changes to any show that they dub over (which they are quite well known for)? If you don't like the dub, then don't watch it (I know that last sentence might've come across as lecturing, but I find it very tiresome to see the same ratting on a tv dub over and over again).
Also, stop calling 4Kids "4Shit", "4Crap", or whatever. It's lame, annoying and overdone.

Let's try to be sensible, alright Son? Daizenshuu EX is supposed to be a forum for intelligent conversation, and not biased, and childish name-calling.Son Goku wrote:"4shit" "4kidswatchingthiscrap" "4baddubs"
So lets try to keep a par, shall we?

As well, I am not going to outright demand anything of you, but I will ask this, as I've seen in other posts of yours, you have a habit of making text increasingly large; would it be possible for you to tone that down a bit? It's a tad annoying.

I aree with everything you've said. And the last part, I think it's a bit habitual, but all the same, it's annoying; so I've asked him kindly to stop.Domon wrote:And yet... and yet... life goes on. Oh, and also, Son Goku; I've seen a post where you posted twice in large letters your current post count, and nothing else; that is called "posting for the sake of posting," and should be avoided as it breaks the TOS agreement of DaizEX forums.
And now, as far as the dub is concerned, it is depressing that 4Kids' has butchered it the way they have, but we can do no more than just either bear with it, or import...

If I have no other way to watch One Piece, I have to watch it to get my dose of One Piece. Look I don't live in Japan, bittorrent is crap, bootlegs are crap and the japanese dvds are a VERY big investment (if you want them all), so I have to watch the dub, all three times of the week (Come the 22, all 7 times of the week). I'm just saying it's an insult to One Piece fans... no scratch that.... ALL anime fans what they do. Merging episodes, skipping critical story arcs, charging for 3 edited episodes more than what 13 UNCUT Naruto episodes cost. I.. I just wish that Funi got it like what Super Sonic said while I was typing this. 77 episodes cut down to 48... just not rightDomon wrote: If you don't like the dub, then don't watch it.

I'll tone down the big letters and childish swearing, but that number of post thing was in my very own introduction topic as something to keep track of how many posts I had at what dates.lost in thought wrote:

My rant answers that. Pretty big investment for somethng without subtitles.lost in thought wrote: or import...

Yea, I've been trying to re-subscribe to SJ and, since my mom workes at a Waldenbooks, I might be able to rent the GNs from her.gallagtor wrote:just pick up the Graphic Novels. Or if you really want to save some money, get a subscription to American Shonen Jump. Looks like Viz is as accurate as you're going to get.
I've already made a plan to buy the GNs and put an R whenever they say ZoLo to keep it consistent with the other volumes.
If anyone mentioned the scanned fan-translated manga (they're actually up to a few chapters behind Japan), I personally would like to take my chances with a perfessional manga-translating company who takes longer to get to a point than a fan-translating company who gives some of the characters wierd names.

No one ever said Naruto would be $20 per boxset. If you had an official source for this, then I might believe it.
Also, the whole "4etc" thing doesn't really do much for your credibility or tact. You can get upset, but try not to get too overboard about a cartoon, regardless of it's entertainment value (You can always get raws, or, in more dire circumstances, fansubs). Blame Toei on equal parts to 4kids, since they're nearly just as bad.
Now, One Piece can hardly kill the minds of a new generation since a new generation doesn't give a shit about One Piece, atleast not in a way they could care about. Even if it was given a faux-Naruto/Inu Yasha/YYH treatment I still doubt anyone would care, since the style (while I enjoy it) is far too outlandish and well.. weird, for western audiences.
And finally, Australia isn't so much "getting" uncut One Piece, more so it's been announced an Australian company has DVD rights to an uncut version. They also announced uncut Sailor Moon, ala what ADV had, but that also fell through because of Toei and whatever else. Protip- it isn't a sure thing until you get it in your own hands.

Ok, fine. The $20 per Uncut Boxset bit was more me hopeing. No matter what the price is for the uncut boxsets, be it $30, $40 or even $50, it would still go like this:
$30: 3 edited One Piece episodes (1 dvd) = 13 Uncut Naruto (if that's the price)
$40: 4 edited One Piece episodes (1 1/3 dvds) = 13 Uncut Naruto (this seems the most reasonable)
$50: 5 edited One Piece episodes (1 2/3 dvds) = 13 Uncut Naruto (this seems the most likely)
And yet it's popular enough to get a weekday slot on CNMagnaboss wrote: This new generation doesn't give a shit about One Piece

First of all, we have really no idea how much the dvd's are going to run for One Piece, and Naruto isn't even available in the US yet, in any shape or form, let alone on DVD; so what orifice have you forcibly removed that from?!
Sure it's a big investment, but if you want "uncut" One Piece so bad, you bite your tongue and import; thats your only option, so stop whining. The import or deal option is old hat, and people have whined about it, and it doesn't change anything, it just ruins things for those who want to debate merit, or quality, or help other people understand things... x.xlost in thought wrote:or import...Son Goku wrote:My rant answers that. Popularity has nothing to do with that. Cartoon Network bought the show to air, whether it was the plan from the beginning that it would air weekly, or not, it would have aired weekly eventually.Son Goku wrote:And yet it's popular enough to get a weekday slot on CN
Look at FullMetal Alchemist. Once it's season ended, it was airing weekly. Thats just what a lot of CN's series do in their rotations.
