Wow, this looks interesting... I might pick it up... Although I don't really like FUNimation's remastering.
So mondo lame.

There's really nothing to complain about as far as their work on the movies. Yes, there's very, very minor blurring from the DVNR, but their old masters for these were horribly grainy and damaged. There's no doubt about which has superior image quality.

The Dragon Box is still the standard to beat when it comes to minimizing grain and damage and maximizing detail. But the process should still help more than hurt here.

So these are newly done hm?

Could anyone provide screenshot comparisons of the original releases versus this new one? I own the original Dragon Ball Movie Box and I am curious as to how they differ in image quality. Not enough for me to double dip, but it's definitely worth it for comparisons sake when the box hits :)

And? It's just the same art given by Toei depicting the characters and scenery of movie 4.

Wait, so have redubs for Movies 2, 3 and the 10th Anniversary been officially confirmed or denied? Because if they don't have new dubs, I think I'll pass on this set :/

They haven't said anything other then, these are the movies on this set and these are how many discs they will be on. But I doubt it'll be re-dubbed.

Really wish they didn't go with the Season Set template. Blech.

Well the gap between the first movie release is seriously 6 months and plus the street date of 2/8/11, isn't that enough time to properly dub movies 2-4?

While I'm not that big into the Season Set template myself, I will give FUNi props for consistent cover art throughout all three series as of late.

As smexy as the cover art is, I'll probably end up buying it only when it hits around $15 just because from what I remember the only movie I really enjoyed was the Anniversary Special.

Well, according to the November 16, 2010 News update from Daizex...

I am pretty sure that they'll at least put Makafushigi Adventure/Romantic Ageru Yo into Movie 2's dub.

Colleen Clickenbeard played Goku in Movie 1, Ceyli Delgadillo played Goku in Dragon Ball Movies 2, and 3 and Stephanie Nadolny played Goku in the 10th Anniversary Special.

There is no consistency in the Dragon Ball movies.
It was actually Saffron Henderson who played in the DB movie 1. Though I'm not sure if Goku got a new voice in the re-released DB movie. But you are right that Goku's voices constantly got changed in the movies, which was kinda irratating in my opinion.
- Been a Dragon Ball fan ever since 1995 (at the time, I was 7 years old).
- I prefer Saffron Henderson's Kid Gohan and Kid Goku over Stephanie Nadolny's.
- I still hope for a redub of Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z with FUNimation's current cast.
- I prefer to watch Dragon Ball Z with the Faulconer Score, however I do not mind the original Japanese score.

Yeah, they were discussing the re-dub of the movie (the one that just came out, and will also be included in the four-pack) which does indeed feature Clickenbeard as Goku.

Kind of weird they're releasing Curse of the Blood Rubies and this back to back. This is going to piss a few kids off next visit to Best Buy.

Its pretty simple. They put out the single for those who picked up the 3 pack. Then the four pack is for those who dont have any of the movies. It's pretty cool of them to announce the four pack so early as a heads up to potential buyers so they don't have to double dip.

Yeah I know I guess I'm just thinking of the casual fan who just checks out the anime section every once in awhile and gets this movie, then comes back in a few months and sees the 4 pack. I know I was like that for a bit when I was younger. I'm not offended or calling Funimation jerks or anything.

I fear the casual buyer has a lot more to be confused about in regards to the dragon ball releases than this one movie. :P
