Dragonball Z Kai - Part 4 Cover

Hm. I don't really have an opinion either way on it. It's just kind of a, "Hm. Neat," sort of thing. I don't even pay attention to the Kai covers when I take the discs out. That right is more or less reserved for the Dragonbox.

I'm going to reiterate what I said on Twitter, I think the cover is absolutely horrible. There's just so much wrong with it; specifically Freeza. Even Goku isn't that good. It's just... bad. It's SO bad! It looks so awkward. Freeza's foot, and head. The shading on his legs, Goku's head, and arms. His right fist looks like a block. FUNimation should ask for their money back... But, it's not like I'm gonna buy it, so... yeah. Whatever. Nevertheless, I think it looks like shit, but that's just me.

I totally agree on this. At first glance, it might look totally awesome, but if you look into it more carefully, it's just horrible. It's like, they hired the guy who animated the worst looking episode in this set, and then made him do the cover.

The more I look at this cover the more I begin to dislike it. Freeza's head just looks funny and his foot looks like someone broke it by twisting it backwards.

Which is funny, because Goku did twist Freeza's foot in one of the episode, this set contains.

I'm unhappy with it, but I'm sure that in time I'll grow accustomed to it. What's truly important to me are the contents, which we already know to be good. ^_^

I agree with whoever said that there should have only been Frieza, it DOEs make the other covers look kind of like crap and like they didn't matter and if they continue to do two character covers, they first 3 will be even crappier.

They should have stuck with Frieza and then have a Yellow box with SS Goku on it.

Just because the other covers only had one character doesn't mean that it was a destined pattern. It's not like the packaging changed. I dislike the white background and the very basic simple design, but I like the picture. To me, Freeza does not look "deformed." It looks like his body is twisted. It looks like he's in his side view with his waist turned to kick Goku. I don't see anything wrong with that.

I can't believe how bad some of you think it is, all the Kai covers look amazing. It's some of the best looking art this series gets.

Look at the Japanese sets, they get horrible art.

I am pretty sure that FUNi will bring us the original KAi Boxsets from Japan very soon. Than I will buy the japanese FUNi KAi Boxsets. First of all they have Booklets, better artwork and they are of course original! I think I will sell my DBZ KAi Part 1 Blu-ray on ebay or so and wait for the "original" boxsets.

The artwork of Part 4 is under average. How can FUNi hire such bad artwork designers??? What is next on Part 5 the artwork ? I bet SSJ GOKU .... very dissapointing FUNi

Why would they? The FUNimation transfers are actually better, it would be like a downgrade if they brought over the Japanese version. Those books are awesome though, maybe they could just include the books in the next re-release.

The Japanese Kai Blu-Rays are massively better than the DVDs. They're practically the same as the FUNI releases!

He could just mean the box sets that contain the same things but in English and in Blu-ray only.

The only real time they ever did that was with the Dragon Boxes, but that's only because that release was unique. They have the Kai releases pretty much down and even if they do release a boxed-set, I doubt they'd do any of the Japanese artwork or anything. No reason got it really. Plus, again, the only time they ever mimicked the Japanese version of the covers, etc., was with the Dragon Boxes. I doubt they'd do it with Kai too. Not to say they wouldn't have their own booklets and whatnot if Kai was repackaged.

I see nothing wrong with Freeza at all. Compared to the somewhat stiff and plain covers of volumes 2 and 3 (American releases), this cover kicks ass!

That looks awesome and I enjoy the 2 character's on the box. Where did it ever say 1 character is enough? Maybe if they started with Part 1 with a background that wasn't white... but adding some now would be weird. Bring on the Cell Games boxart!

If this is what they are going with for Freeza then I think it's safe to assume we'll have a SSJ2 Gohan vs. Perfect Cell on the final volume for that arc? I think that could potentially look awesome.

Except that FUNimation has actually adjusted cover art before final releases (pretty sure with One Piece with an actual image change, all the way down to the orange bricks originally being yellow bricks). So... well, it's not all that pointless considering feedback could result in changes.

I'm getting into quasi-rude territory, but I just read your comment as, "I think this is dumb and I have nothing to contribute." Well, why bother posting in the first place?
