Final Bout for the Gameboy?

Post by Hellspawn28 » Fri Dec 24, 2010 9:50 pm

Did a game book version of Final Bout exist since I remember seeing a box art cover for the game before years ago in many DBZ magazines before?

It appears it is an unlicensed game for the Game Boy Color.

Cool since I remember when Beckett did a contest where you can win a GBA with a copy of FB for the Gameboy. The GBC game looks pretty decent though.

That game looks horrendous. Well, what can you expect from a homebrew on the Gameboy? :P

Shit, I think my ears are bleeding...

Although that GBC Final Bout game looks both crap and interesting. Are there other unlicensed Dragon Ball games?

Using the system restrictions of the Game Boy Color, that actually doesn't look half bad

Lol, Bezida. Oh, Pirates and their lack of translation skills...
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
Sure are. Here's a NES port of Super Butouden 2, and here's the pirate original Dragon Ball Z 5.

That actually doesn't look horrible. How it plays and how it looks might be two different things but I really think its visually pretty competent and maybe even a smidge impressive.

Edit: Er...sprite/background wise anyway. The actually combat looks janky. I recognize the character select portraits and opening are stolen but the sprites seem to be original.

This looks downright fun and I'd love to snatch up a copy.

I think I can take an educated guess at who secretly made this game.
What is it with 5's?

Pirate's do that so the game looks "new". The higher the number the newer the buyer will perceive it to be, sometimes the pirate companies take this a little too literally numbering games in the 20's or 30's.

Anyone ever find out what that old Dragon Ball AF PC game was about? I'd post a box art but all I'm getting are Mugens. The game was from the earlier parts of 2000's and had a white box art with potential some fan art on it.
"I like the money it brings in, but Dragon Ball Heroes is the worst. That's actually the real reason I decided to start working on new material. I was afraid Bandai would make something irredeemably stupid like Super Saiyan 4 Broly." - Akira Toriyama, made up interview, 2013.

Those both look pretty cool. Although NES Super Budouten 2's music isn't the best and the combat for Dragon Ball Z 5 looks clunky.

Holy shit, those are some pretty decent 8-bit versions of King of Fighters music...

Wait, those are just rips from the Neo Geo Pocket, aren't they?

So much for this game having SOME originality.
