Re: Does anyone watch Dragon Ball with you?
Back when the original Z aired, and since we live in Washington but got Cartoon Network's Eastern feed, we watched Toonami's Midnight Run at 9. So the 3 year old version of me watched the show with my parents. And now we still do it with Kai (except we record it on a DVR and now I have a sister). And I still need to finish the Kai Part 3 Blu Ray...

Wow! Maybe you can get your sister into DBZ! That'd be pretty cool. She watches it with you, right?metamoss wrote:Back when the original Z aired, and since we live in Washington but got Cartoon Network's Eastern feed, we watched Toonami's Midnight Run at 9. Nope. ^_^

In all seriousness, my friends and I used to watch Dragon Ball Z every day after school. For a while, we got together to watch the Season Sets of Z & GT together and I got everyone together to watch the first few Season Sets of DB. I find myself watching Kai alone mainly.

I used to watch it with both of my brothers, and we still do from time to time. I've also gotten my parents to watch some when we hang out, mostly the movies.
I also went to go see DBE with my Dad and brother, does that count?

I can't believe this is on-topic.
Re: Does anyone watch Dragon Ball with you?
People are really impatient, I see it with people who watch movies all the time. They don't care for plot, they just want action to keep them entertained, and that annoys me deeply.ShadowDude112 wrote:My mom watches Z Kai with me when I watch my recordings from NickToons. She started about when Ginyu switched bodies with Goku or when Goku was fighting Jheese and Butta. She get's impatient a lot when the show drags out which is funny and I can only imagine her watching the original Z. For example, when Goku was taking a long time to recover and when the preview showed that he was going to be recovered next episode, she said "It's about time!" Or when Freeza finally got done powering up to 100% power and the narrator said to tune in on the next Z Kai, she said "Oh man! They always tease you." We're watching my Z Kai sets from the beginning to catch her up. So, has anything like this ever happened to you? Do your parents watch Dragon Ball?
I don't like your mother, at all. Cell versus Goku had fantastic animation, and the pacing wasn't all that bad either. I don't know where she's getting constipated, that's only present in the Ocean seasons and season 3 of Z's English dub. Also, who screams when they're constipated? I would love to be enlightened on that. Ignorance isn't bliss after all.ChampionofTime wrote:My sisters do or rather did, they watched occasional episodes from the Freeza arc before finally starting to properly watch during the Cell stuff and from there on out they watched till the early stages of GT before they got bored. I thought that was a little surprising considering they’re 7 and 4, they turned off during the Bratz movie yet sat and watched for about 100 episodes of some adventure anime.
My mum doesn’t exactly watch it, say if she’s ironing when I’m watching in the living room she’ll make the comment. She ‘ruined’ the Cell Games for me, when I was watching Goku vs. Cell she started talking about how awful the animation is and how all the fighters sound constipated - of all the times to say Goku sounds like he has diarrhoea! Bearing in mind I was watching the dub so I can agree with her on that last one.
However surprisingly come GT she actually sat down and watched and enjoyed it! For one she said the animation was greatly improved and there was some actual story instead of the fighting which made no sense considering we were watching Goku vs. Bebi! All they were doing was fighting! Excluding GT though yeah she hates the show, it’s almost like she fears it. Whenever I go to play a DVD she always says “As long as it’s not Dragon Ball” So either she absolutely hates it or she’s terrified of it but then again who can blame her for being scared - just look at the cropping on the bricks!

Oh yeah Goku vs Cell was one of my favourite fights too and it had great animation so I can see why you might not like herI don't like your mother, at all. I think they always sound constipated in the Z dub when they shout if I'm honest, less so in the Boo saga and Kai but perhaps that's just me; not all the time mind you but constipaton is the closest thing I can compare it too.
Re: Does anyone watch Dragon Ball with you?
Well, who screams when they're constipated? Something more fitting would be being mutilated from the inside out, or rather having something large forced into your body that would cause internal bleeding as well as damage to the lining of whatever tissue [Non-sexual]. Maybe if said person had hemorrhoids and the pain was unbearable they'd scream, that might work (But then again, so what having your arm snapped or legs crushed completely).ChampionofTime wrote:Oh yeah Goku vs Cell was one of my favourite fights too and it had great animation so I can see why you might not like herI don't like your mother, at all. Chi-Chi getting fucked by Vegetto.
...
Moving on...you're right, people grunt rather than scream when they're constipated. Although it's not as if I can remember what I sounded like the last time I was constipated...
Yeah, let's change the topic.

Re: Does anyone watch Dragon Ball with you?
Yeah, she does. She has some kids in her class (she's in 4th grade) that watch Kai on either CW or Nicktoons, so I'm trying to convince her to make them believe she can predict accurately what happens in like, the next arc or whatever, since she knows WAAAY more about the series then her peers do.ShadowDude112 wrote:Wow! Re: Does anyone watch Dragon Ball with you?
Ha, honestly? No.
I think I watched it with my cousin when I visited him when I was a kid like... 8 or 9 years ago.
Otherwise I've tried getting my little brother who is 10 to watch it, but he will every now and then.
He's literally a Satan Spawn so he's really one of those kids who annoy you to know end and his swaying interests doesn't help. (He actually has a unhealthy addiction to horror movie but then likes Twilight and Disney Channel crap, go figure).

Re: Does anyone watch Dragon Ball with you?
When I was first getting into Dragon Ball, I talked about it all the time to my best friend, so finally she started watching it with me to understand what I was talking about. Didn't take long before she was completely hooked. First year of high school, I'd stay over at her house on weekends and have DBZ marathons. Ahh, the good ol' days...
For the most part, I'm the only one of my friends who's still really into Dragon Ball. I've been keeping up with Kai, and my mom has watched Z Kai with me on Toonzai a couple times. She also watched my old Z VHS with me when I was having marathons while recovering from wisdom teeth removal back in October. She's never gotten too into it, though, because she doesn't remember much from watching it with me back in the old days. Also, I think I've made her really confused by watching everything out of order...
