Scouter Colours

I am not sure if it is or not "blue", the color scheme is identical to that of gray & red tones, however it's blueish instead of brownish. Based on the similarity I think it's also possible that Toriyama colored it like gray & red tones, and later re-colored it and forget about changing the scouter color.

All scouters are green. Zarbon and Dodoria were never shown in full-color pages, however Ginyu Force scouters (including Freeza's) are:


(in the second page it might look blue, however that's the color transparency, look at the eyes)

And a true inconsistency occur when Jeice gives Ginyu a yellow scouter (however before that we already saw all Ginyu Forces scouters are green)



Besides that, in all gray & red tones pages the scouters are colored grayish (or brownish in rare cases).

But yeah, the scouter colouring's inconsistent.

Well, I think they were (at least, Dodoria was), but I think their scouters were already destroyed, by that point.

Nah, the real inconsistency is Ginyu's line, "This body is a lot faster!" How does that make any sense at all? One could argue that, even with a battle power of 23,000, Ginyu was able to use all of Goku's speed, but then how come Gohan and Kuririn are able to keep up with him, later on?!

Nah, the real inconsistency is Ginyu's line, "This body is a lot faster!" How does that make any sense at all? One could argue that, even with a battle power of 23,000, Ginyu was able to use all of Goku's speed, but then how come Gohan and Kuririn are able to keep up with him, later on?!

Burter is only 1/3 of Ginyu battle power and is faster than him, I am not surprised that Goku is even faster in proportion to the battle power.

About his fight with Gohan and Kuririn... well, flying is different from fighting...

Huh? If Ginyu was surprised that Goku, who trashed Butta, was faster than himself, why would he (Ginyu) be slower than Butta?

Or are you simply referring to Ginyu's line on Butta being #1 in the universe in terms of speed?

Yeah, I know that Goku is faster than Ginyu, but Ginyu-in-Goku can't access Goku's full abilities.

About his fight with Gohan and Kuririn... well, flying is different from fighting...

But he should be able to fly circles around the both of them...

I found a manga image with a blue scouter (Dodoria):



However I find it possible that Toriyama simply forget the scouter color. I also find weird that he colored Dodoria yellow in the Tankobon cover instead of pink. I even feel that Toriyama intended Dodoria to be yellow and was inconsistent in this page, not the Tankobon.

Despite that, there is also this image from the Daizenshuu



This seems to be the only image outside the anime that intends two scouters having different colors.

While it's not completely consistent, I would say that the best choice is all scouters being green.

Kanzenban, you mean. Anyway, there are at least two chapters that I recall showing Dodoria colored pink.

To answer the "Butta's the fastest in the universe!" line, I think it was just to hype up the fact that speed was Butta's speciality, not literally that he was faster than Ginyu and Freeza. I mean, we do see later on that Ginyu's surprised Goku is "even faster than me!" and how Freeza's speed leaves everyone in the dust.
