Spanish Dragon Ball Z Opening Confusion!!??
I recently came across two spanish dragon ball z openings and this has me confused. One is supposedly used for the first season. It has a whole song about Son Gohan getting kidnapped by Raditz, and has clips from that part of the Saiya-jin saga. The other version is simply a spanish version of Cha-La Head Cha-la. I thought that Cha-La Head Cha-La was used for all seasons except buu just like the japanese version. The strange thing is that the closing theme is still Zenkai Power, despite it being a different opening and song. I think this Gohan Opening might be fan-made, but I'm not sure. Any help would be appriciated.

The second link is from the Latino Mexican dub of Dragon Ball Z.
The first link is the Catalan Spain Opening for Dragon Ball Z. It is similar to the French opening:

Oh god. The French version is the worst Dragon Ball opening I've ever heard.

The French version is terrible but now the song is stuck in my head.
"Dragon Ball Z."
I think I am beginning to enjoy the song.

Thanks for the help. That catalan opening is stuck in my head now. It sucks, but it's extremely catchy, and better than the french opening.

I grew up in Venezuela in the 90's and we had the Mexican dub on TV. All the openings and endings for DB, DBZ and DBGT were exactly the same as the Japanese except translated into Spanish.
Actually, I recently re-discovered a Music CD in my Hard Copy CD collection of DB/DBZ music from the Spanish dub they released around 98/99 that has most of the DB Spanish song dubs along with the beginning of the DBZ stuff (It only has the first OP/ED). I couldn't find the listing on the DaizEX site.
The really humorous part is that it has a Spanish version of (I'm so not joking here)... "Rock The Dragon"!
It also has Karaoke tracks for "Makafushigi Adventure" and "Cha-La-Head-Cha-La", except they seem to be sorta re-recorded by a synthesizer rather than being the original Japanese Instrumental Tracks.
Also, having seen both the Spain and Mexican dubs, I think the Mexican dub is far superior. The Spain dub seemed like it was toned down, chopped up and the tone of the voices were softened. The Mexican dub just felt authentic to me.

You didn't find that CD on Daizex because it is a bootleg.

Are you sure it's a bootleg? I remember seeing ads for it while it was airing on TV. I bought t at a retail store in Venezuela and it looks like it was released under the Warner Music label.Piccolo Daimaoh wrote:You didn't find that CD on Daizex because it is a bootleg.
Here are some quick scans I made of the front/back cover and the back of the CD so you can see:

Or maybe because EX is not aware of such releases or is not in possession of them. Also what knowledge would you posses to know if they aren't official releases?Piccolo Daimaoh wrote:You didn't find that CD on Daizex because it is a bootleg.

But to answer this issue, yes CDs were released in Spanish speaking countries. Such as in good old Chile, where I had the release that came right after after your second scan, which even included GT music and "songs inspired by it". It had most of the track list such as said "Rock The Dragon"
There was a thread that mentioned these a while ago. http://daizex.fanboyreview.net/viewtopi ... 12&t=14119

Oh. I was thinking of this CD, which the owner of the channel told me was a bootleg.

Dude, these openings are terrible. As if the music is not bad enough, they use a footage of mere 1 or 2 random episodes.
Here in Brazil the openings were relatively good:
