Perhaps I am just not looking i the right places but is there an app for this site? Perhaps for when theres updates or when someone quotes your post in the forums?

I'm on my Android right now, and it works more smoothly than most mobile sites. An app is not needed.

I'd just like a notice or something when there are updates, instead of just randomly checking.

Is there any kind of application that sends push-notifications to mobile devices based on RSS updates? It'd have to be running in the background at all times, check the feed at regular intervals, and manually prompt the user with an update. Not that my site even runs on an RSS feed, but that kind of thing would have to exist before I even bothered setting up a back-end that's useless, otherwise.

I'm pretty sure if you click 'notify me' under the options that'll do exactly what you want.

It's a built in function of the forum.

...and I'm pretty sure it was even there on the old forum.
